Work proactively to achieve objectives of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’: Yudhvir urges party cadre

JAMMU, Dec 28: Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir and Convener Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, J&K, has urged the party cadre to carry out their activities at the grass roots level in strict accordance with the aims and objectives of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat so that these are achieved at the earliest.
He stated this while conducting a meeting of Co-Convenors of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Jammu and Kashmir comprising Rajiv Charak (Prabhari Jammu District), Sanjay Baru (Corporator & Convener Panchayati Raj Cell) and Rekha Mahajan, BJP District President South.
In his address, Yudhvir Sethi asked the Co-Convenors and other party leaders present on the occasion to take the policies and programmes of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to every nook and corner across the J&K Union Territory. He directed them to bring into motion the entire party cadre especially the activists and workers to make the people aware about the party’s achievements after it came to power at the Centre. He asked them to ensure that the benefits of various schemes launched by the Union Govt percolate right upto the grass roots level.
The senior BJP leader asked the party cadre to keep in mind the basic objectives of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’ and proactively function as party’s foot soldiers on ground in accordance with and towards achievement of the objectives.
Educating those present on the occasion about the aforesaid scheme, Sethi said that India is a culturally rich country and is known across the globe for its identity for its rich history of cultural evolution. However, in an era of technology which has reduced geographical boundaries, it is important to establish cultural exchanges between people of different regions, as a means to further human bonding and a common approach to nation-building, he asserted.
The senior BJP leader said that in furtherance of promoting this identity of the nation, the ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme has been introduced under the Ministry of Human Resource Development to encourage the people of India to learn about the culture of different states and Union Territories and promote a stronger and united India. He asked the party foot soldiers to make the people at grass roots level aware about how BJP led Govt at the Centre has been successfully marching ahead to fulfill this nation building mission.
Yudhvir Sethi said since there are elements in J&K who are bent upon disturbing the harmony and brotherhood of this region, therefore this scheme assumes greater significance for the people of this UT in defeating such elements. He urged the party workers and activists to make the people realize that they need to further strengthen PM’s hands by voting for BJP in the forthcoming Assembly elections as it will go a long way to achieve the target of best nation building.

JAMMU: Sports activities inculcate mental endurance, discipline and positivity among the youngsters besides keeping them away from drugs and other illicit habits.
This was said by Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President BJP J&K Unit and Chairman All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association at the start of match between City Football Club Udhampur and Shaheen Football Club being played under the ongoing Christmas Gold Cup Tournament here at GGM Science College Ground on Friday.
The aforesaid tournament which commenced on December 5, 2022, is being organized under the aegis of All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association. The final of the tournament will be played on December 18, 2022.
Addressing the gathering, Sethi asserted that significance of sports and fitness in one’s life is invaluable as the same harness team spirit, develops strategic and analytical thinking, leadership skills, goal setting and risk taking. “A fit and healthy individual leads to an equally healthy society and strong nation”, he added.
Baldev Singh Billawaria Deputy Mayor was the chief Guest on the occasion. He said that sports hold much significance in youths’ life as it instills confidence and leadership qualities. He said that in the last few years the country has made steady progress in the field of sports and that is the reason behind India shining at world stage with medals pouring in persistently. “It’s time we inspire young talent, give them top-notch infrastructure and training of the highest level”, he said adding that this is necessary for becoming a sports super power across the world. In today’s match City Club Udhampur trounced Shaheen Football Club by 2-0.

‘Our Alumni are the ambassadors of our institute across the globe: Dir NIT

Srinagar, Dec 15: An alumnus from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) has developed a device called Sindhuja-1 aimed to generate electricity from the Ocean waves.

Karthik Sunkara, a 2016 pass-out from the Civil Engineering Department of NIT- Srinagar had thought of generating power from the waves in oceans in 2020 February.

Later in December 2020, Karthik worked on the project in collaboration with the Ocean Engineering Department of IIT-Madras, as the institution was also researching the same idea of generating electricity from sea waves.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Rakesh Sehgal congratulated Karthik Sunkara. He said it is a proud moment for the entire institute. He said alumni are ambassadors of our institute and urged them to take the institute to greater heights.

“Great institutes, across the world, have become great with the contribution of their alumni. We hope our alumni would engage with us and make NIT Srinagar always proud of their achievements,” Prof. Sehgal said.

Registrar NIT Srinagar Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari extended his best wishes to Karthik Sunkara and his entire team. He worked under my guidance during his B.Tech project and was a keen observer of things,” Prof. Bukhari said.

He described Karthik as a great philanthropist, who worked tirelessly during the 2014 floods in Kashmir.

“Our alumni network has always brought great glory to our institution. They have set the example of being successful and have inspired us to have a clear conscience, the courage to speak the truth, and the importance of being authentic,” he said.

Prof. Bukhari said alumni have established themselves as successful individuals in almost every field across the globe, and that is what makes us prouder.

Karthik had also launched his startup called Virya Paramita Energy (VPE) and had signed a joint development agreement with IIT-Madras to take the project forward. They then developed a device called, ‘Ocean Wave Energy Converter’, or Sindhuja-1, to generate power from the waves.

In November 2022, they deployed the device 6 km off the coast of Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu and placed it at a depth of 20 meters.

In his message, Karthik said their startup is working on Wave energy. We are trying to produce electricity from Ocean waves which can be used for various needs such as power needs, seawater desalination, sea surveillance, coral reef nourishment, navigation buoys, etc.

Numerous individuals and deputations visited the BJP office to meet the party leaders and narrate their woes & problems. The issues presented by common masses before the senior party leaders were related to PHE, PWD, Rural Development, Revenue, Irrigation & Flood Control, Education, Agriculture etc.

BJP leaders took up the presented issues with the heads of concerned departments pressing for their early solutions.

Sham Choudhary said that BJP is concerned to the common masses and their issues. He said that all the senior functionaries of BJP are daily available at the party office to listen to the public grievances.

Priya Sethi said that BJP leaders make every effort to solve the issues represented before at the earliest. She said that people reach the party office with a very positive mindset that their issues would be resolved soon.

Munish Sharma said that the BJP leaders have sincerely tried to start a communication bridge between masses and administration and general masses must avail its benefit.

Sanjita Dogra was felicitated for the Presidency for second term

J&K BJP senior leaders and Mahila Morcha team today congratulated Sanjita Dogra for assuming the presidency for second tenure.

BJP leaders felicitated her for her early tenure and wished her for her second tenure. Among the party members who graced the occasion were J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Former Minister Priya Sethi, National executive member Updesh Andotra, Seh-Prabhari Mahila Morcha Veenu Khanna, General secretary Neha Mahajan, Mahila Morcha office bearer, District presidents along with their team members and few female members of Mahila Morcha from Srinagar have also participated.

Ravinder Raina said that she has leadership quality of collectively taking all Mahila Morcha teams into consideration and confidence. She is a diligent and intelligent woman. He added that the BJP government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, paid special attention to such programmes and welfare schemes which particularly aimed at making women self-reliant, dignified life and contribute in nation building. Mahila Morcha is the integral part of the BJP, he added.

Former Minister Priya Sethi congratulated Sanjita Dogra for retaining the post of Presidentship for the second term and appreciated her hardwork and dedication towards the party. She said that it is the moral duty of every BJP Mahila Morcha member to share information about the schemes initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for welfare of the women and the policies of the party at grassroot level.

Sanjita Dogra has expressed her deepest gratitude to Ravinder Raina, General Secretary org. Ashok Koul, Priya Sethi and all the other members for reposing trust in her for a second time and giving her an opportunity to provide her services as President Mahila Morcha. Clean lanes and drains, true symbol of Smart City: Baru

Senior BJP Leader and JMC Councillor from Ward 41 Sanjay Kumar Baru inaugurated newly constructed deep drain and initiated paver tiles work at Anand Vihar Lane No-1 along with BJP Mandal President Talab Tillo Keshav Chopra, District vice-president Jaideep Singh Sambyal and SC Morcha district president Chaman Lal Bhagat.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Baru said that it was indeed a long pending demand of the inhabitants, which has been met today. He said that the mission behind this was to provide a conducive and clean atmosphere to the society. He said that he took up repair and construction works of many lanes and Drains and now majority of them were constructed which has helped a lot in achieving the mission of Smart City.

Baru stated that efforts are still being made to provide every possible assistance to the masses at their doorsteps for which he appealed to the inhabitants to contribute in keeping their surroundings neat and clean. He also stated that providing a neat and clean environment is the motive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government and wherever required channelizing of deep drains will be done to provide best infra to the public.

Baru said clean and well-maintained lanes make basic building blocks for making Jammu as Smart City. He said on the same lines, construction of drain in Anand Vihar lane no.1 has been completed and today work of paver tiles started in the lane. The Estimated cost of both the development works is 21 lakhs, he said.

Keshav Chopra appreciated the continuous development works being taken by the local Councillor and said that BJP believes in the policy of development for all.

Local Residents appreciated the pro-active approach of the local Councillor and extended gratitude for his continuous efforts taken to improve the ward amenities.
