*SSP SAMBA REVIEWS NDPS CASES, EMPHASIZES IDENTIFICATION OF BACKWARD AND FORWARD LINKAGES IN DRUG TRAFFICKING NETWORKS*

Samba: June 02, 2026: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Sh. Anuj Kumar, IPS today chaired a Crime Review Meeting at the District Police Office Samba to assess the progress of investigations in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and to formulate strategies for further strengthening anti-narcotics efforts in the district.

The meeting was attended by Addl.SP Samba, all SDPOs, SHOs, Investigating Officers (IOs) of NDPS cases and other officers of the district.

During the meeting, SSP Samba stressed the need for a more focused and intelligence-driven approach to dismantle narcotics networks rather than limiting investigations to individual offenders. He directed all Investigating Officers to always establish backward and forward linkages in every NDPS case so as to identify the original suppliers, financiers, transporters, facilitators, distributors and end-level peddlers involved in the illicit trade.

The SSP instructed the officers to conduct sustained follow-up investigations to identify inter-district and inter-state connections, collect actionable intelligence and take legal action against all persons found involved in narcotics-related activities.

The SSP further directed officers to intensify surveillance in vulnerable areas, maintain strict watch on known drug peddlers and repeat offenders and utilize technical as well as human intelligence to detect and prevent narcotics-related crimes.

Special emphasis was laid on identifying proceeds of crime generated through narcotics trafficking and initiating appropriate legal proceedings for attachment of illegally acquired properties under relevant provisions of law.

The meeting concluded with SSP Samba reaffirming the commitment of District Police Samba to pursue a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics trafficking and drug abuse. He urged all officers to work with dedication, professionalism and accountability to eliminate the drug menace and ensure a safe and secure environment for the people of the district.

Message of Valor and National Unity at Maharana Pratap Jayanti Celebration
Samba: The Maharana Pratap Jayanti Mahotsav was organized on Sunday under the joint aegis of the Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha and Dharma Jagran Samanvay. A large number of community members participated in the event and pledged to follow the ideals of Maharana Pratap.
The chief guest on the occasion was MLA Surjit Singh Slathia, while the event was presided over by Kunwar Narayan Singh, Chairman of the Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha. Tarsem Singh, associated with Dharma Jagran Samanvay, attended as the keynote speaker.
The speakers highlighted that Maharana Pratap is not only an icon of the Rajput community but also a symbol of courage, self-respect, sacrifice, and patriotism for the entire nation. They urged the youth to draw inspiration from his life and contribute to nation-building.
During the programme, emphasis was also laid on social harmony, national unity, and the preservation of cultural values. The speakers elaborated on Maharana Pratap’s struggles and achievements, stating that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
Among those present were District President Amardeep Singh, Inder Singh, other distinguished citizens, youth, and women who participated enthusiastically in the celebration.

🚨 चिट्टे के साथ सांबा में दो गिरफ्तार

सांबा: नशा मुक्त अभियान के तहत सांबा पुलिस ने अलग-अलग कार्रवाइयों में दो नशा तस्करों को गिरफ्तार कर कुल 13.55 ग्राम चिट्टा बरामद किया है।

पुलिस पोस्ट रख अंब टाल्ली की टीम ने वाहन जांच के दौरान अजय कुमार निवासी कटड़ा (रियासी) को 3.68 ग्राम चिट्टा और 8,810 रुपये नकद सहित गिरफ्तार किया। वहीं, थाना बड़ी ब्राह्मणा पुलिस ने निहालकी में नाका लगाकर राकेश कुमार निवासी कटड़ा को 9.87 ग्राम चिट्टा, मोबाइल फोन और डिजिटल वजन मशीन के साथ दबोचा।

दोनों आरोपियों के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत मामले दर्ज कर आगे की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है।
