Hermann Gmeiner School Students Tie Rakhi to the President of India — A Historic and Heartwarming Moment
In a moment that will forever be etched in their memories, five bright students of Hermann Gmeiner School, Jammu, were bestowed with the once-in-a-lifetime honour of meeting the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan on 9th August 2025.
The delegation comprised Avaapya (Class IX), Diana Koul (Class VIII), Komal Sharma (Class IX), Himanshu Thakur (Class VIII), and Parth Raina (Class IX), accompanied by the school’s Principal, Ms. Shakun Choudhary.
With hearts brimming with pride and joy, the young ambassadors of the school tied a Rakhi on the wrist of the first citizen of the country, symbolising the eternal bond of protection and respect. The meeting was not just ceremonial—it was an emotional, inspirational, and deeply motivating experience for the students.
Speaking about the occasion, Principal Ms. Shakun Choudhary expressed, “It was a proud and humbling moment for all of us. Meeting our President in person has not only inspired our students but also instilled in them a deeper sense of patriotism and responsibility towards the nation.”
The interaction with Smt. Droupadi Murmu left the students awestruck by her humility, warmth, and encouraging words. The President’s gracious presence and her blessings have ignited in them a renewed commitment to excel and serve the nation.
