Leh: Ladakh DGP SD Singh Jamwal addresses a press conference on September 24 violence, says, “An unprecedented situation occurred here in Ladakh, resulting in significant violence and damage, leading to four deaths. Several paramilitary personnel and civilians were also injured.”

He adds, “Since the formation of the Union Territory of Ladakh, there has been a political demand for Sixth Schedule status and statehood. In this context, talks have been ongoing between the two local bodies, Apex Body Leh and KDA, and the Central Government.”

🚨 *DISTRICT POLICE REASI TIGHTENS GRIP ON DRUG PEDDLERS – TWO NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED, HUGE RECOVERY OF NARCOTICS* 🚨



District Police Reasi continues its relentless crackdown on drug peddlers and achieved two major successes in its ongoing war against drugs.

📌 *Case 1:*
A naka was laid at Balini Bridge to Ban Ganga Link Road by I/C Police Post Ban Ganga PSI Rahul Jamwal. During checking, one person moving on foot from Balini Bridge side was stopped and identified as Vijay Singh S/O Dalip Singh R/O Sari, Bhomag, Reasi, who works as a Pithu/Labourer at SMVD Track.

On suspicion, he was subjected to personal search, leading to the recovery of a transparent polypack containing 4.30 grams of heroin-like substance.
➡️ On this, FIR No. 267/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway.

📌 *Case 2:*
In another successful action, during patrolling at Tarakote Railway Crossing, a police party led by PSI Abinave Sharma intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Vishal Sharma S/O Mohan Lal Sharma R/O Mandi, Tehsil & District Reasi.

Upon search, the police recovered a huge quantity of banned narcotic drugs being transported in a Wagon R Car (JK21A 0829), which was seized on the spot. The recovered contraband includes:

*Buprenorphine – 490 tablets*

*Alprazolam – 160 tablets*

*Pregabalin – 410 tablets*

➡️ In this regard, FIR No. 266/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is underway to expose the backward and forward linkages of the accused.

⚖️ Both operations were conducted under the leadership of *SHO PS Katra Insp. Khyatiman Khajuria*, under the close supervision of *SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS* and *SP Katra Sh. Vipan Chandran, JKPS.*

👉 *SSP Reasi Sh. Paramvir Singh, JKPS,* said: “Drug peddlers are the biggest enemies of society. District Police Reasi will leave no stone unturned in its war against drugs to safeguard the youth. We appeal to the public to extend full cooperation by sharing information about such criminals.”

SAMBA POLICE SEIZES 16 QUINTALS ADULTERATED PANEER

Samba: September 26, 2025: Samba Police has seized approximately 16 quintals adulterated paneer from 02 passenger buses in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.

Acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Samba laid a naka near SIDCO Chowk Samba and intercepted two passenger buses bearing registration No. AR01V-3149 & No. AR20B-8880. During checking, approximately 10 quintals of paneer was recovered from bus No. AR01V-3149 whereas approximately 06 quintals of paneer was recovered from bus No. AR20B-8880. The buses were moving from Amritsar to Jammu and Delhi to Katra. Police has seized both the vehicles on the spot.

Accordingly, the matter was taken up with the Food Safety Department who have conducted on spot sampling and found that the recovered paneer was adulterated with Vanaspati oil in deteriorated condition and unfit for human consumption.
