*05 TRACTOR ALONGWITH TROLLEYS INDULGED IN ILLEGAL MINING SEIZED BY J&K POLICE KATHUA AT BILLAWAR AREA*

KATHUA; 15 JULY:- Cracking a whip on illegal mining and transportation of minerals, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* intercepted/seized 05 vehicles ( 05 Tractor Trolleys) indulged in illegal mining in the jurisdictional area of PS Billawar.

On 15.07.2025 A Police team of P/S Billawar led by SHO PS Billawar Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq under the guidance of SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar during patrolling/checking seized 05 Tractor alongwith Trolleys bearing Reg. Nos. i.e

1. Tractor JK08P-2876 (loaded with sand)

2. Tractor JK08D-8123 (loaded with sand)

3. Tractor JK08H-8521 (loaded with Bajri)

4. Tractor JK02CA-7858 (loaded with sand)
5. Tractor JK14H-3005 (loaded with Sand)
which were indulged in illegal mining(transportation of minerals Sand & Bajri) without any legal permission.Meanwhile all the 05 vehicles ( 05 Tractor Trolleys indulged in illegal mining were seized & immediately handed over to the officials of the Geological and Mining department Kathua.

*Commemoration of Brig Mohammad Usman’s 113th Birth Anniversary at Usman Memorial, Jhangar.*

The 113th Birth Anniversary of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, MVC — famously known as the 'Sher-e-Naushera'— was commemorated with great reverence and patriotic fervour at Usman Memorial, Jhangar. The event was jointly organised by the District Administration, Rajouri and the Indian Army.

The event commenced with a solemn wreath laying ceremony followed by screening of a documentary highlighting the heroic life, leadership and supreme sacrifice of Brig Usman, who laid down his life while valiantly defending Nowshera during the Indo-Pak War of 1947-48.

Local school students added patriotic spirit to the occasion with stirring performances. Shri Basant Singh, the lone surviving Bal Sainik of 47-48 Indo Pak delivered a motivational speech to the august gathering.

Later, the attendees explored the facilities of the Usman Community Learning Centre. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, civil dignitaries, and Army personnel, reflecting the deep respect and pride the region holds for this War Hero.

The event, jointly organised by the Civil Administration & the Indian Army showcased seamless synergy and coordination between them.

The commemoration was a fitting tribute to Brig Usman’s indomitable spirit and a reminder of the sacrifices made for the sovereignty of the nation.

Pre-Lok Adalat sessions for Armed Forces, Ex serviceman & Naari
held at ADR center District Court Complex Poonch in which different cases were taken up.

In order to provide an opportunity to children and youth from remote areas especially Poonch district and adjoining Professor Owasi social active Taj Mir localities for exhibiting their talent in the field of Dance,Singing, Acting, Arts and Craft, NIZAMIA WELFARE TRUST, Poonch in Collabration with HARMAN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY (regd.) , Jammu organised district level competition " POONCH DISTRICT PERFORMING ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025", on 14 July 2025, at the premises of Town Hall, near district Court Complex, Poonch in which about 30 - 40 children and youth of various age categories participated and exhibited their talent which was applauded and appreciated by the honourable guests and gathering present on the occasion. On the occasion, was chief guest. The competition started with the traditional lighting of lamp by dignitaries present on the occasion. Tajinder Singh, president, HCES, and Gurvinder Kour, State Secretary, Performing Arts Association of J&K also grased the occasion as Guests of honour.
The judgement was done by Suhani Sharma , international gold medalist in Singing and Gurvinder Kour, renowned classical and bhangra expert of Jammu and Kashmir. The best performers were felicitated by the chief guest and dignitaries present on the occasion and got selected for upcoming State level Championship 2025 to be held soon.

BJP leader and DDC Head Quarters Mendhar Engineer Sardar Wajid Bashir Khan Tickoo held a meeting in Mendhar regarding construction and development works. On this occasion, a large number of people from all over Mendhar, the Panch,Sarpanch and BJP workers area and youth participated and raised their regional basic problems and difficulties in the meeting. The people said that even in this era of construction and development, the people here are deprived of basic facilities like water, quality roads, medical facilities, education. During this, BJP leader and DDC Head Quarters Mendhar Engineer Sardar Wajid Bashir Khan Tickoo said that the National Conference Party has failed miserably in carrying out construction and development works on the ground level. Whatever promises were made to the people during the elections that we will devote four months to construction and development and provide free electricity, ration, 12 gas cylinders and other facilities to the people, but the misfortune of the people is that not a single one has been fulfilled. He said that only in the name of roads Deforestation has destroyed 70% of the forests Land in the Mendhar sub division. If the situation continues like this, in the coming time all the forests will be destroyed and will be occupied by the people. He said that the central government is releasing crores of rupees and innumerable schemes, but the poor people are not getting any benefit. He said that if justice is not done to the poor, we will take to the streets on a large scale and raise our voice
