Continuing its sustained *drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing N@sha Mukt Abhiyaan, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved another success by apprehending one person involved in drug peddling* activities in the jurisdiction of Police Station Akhnoor.

A police party of *Police Station Akhnoor* while conducting naka checking at Khuga noticed a suspicious person riding a *motorcycle bearing registration number JK02DT-7336*. On seeing the police party, the suspect attempted to flee from the spot.

Acting swiftly, the police team chased and apprehended the accused. *During his search, 5.35 grams of her0in-like substance was recovered* from his possession.

Accordingly, *FIR No. 129/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor* and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police Continues Crackdown on Drug Trafficking; One Held with Heroin-Like Substance in Miran Sahib

Continuing its sustained drive against drug abuse and narcotics trafficking, Jammu Police achieved another success when Police Station Miran Sahib apprehended one person and recovered heroin-like substance from his possession during routine foot patrolling.

A police team from Police Station Miran Sahib, while conducting routine foot patrolling near Ring Road, Nandpur, noticed a suspicious individual who attempted to flee on seeing the police party. During his attempt to escape, he also tried to throw away a green-coloured polythene bag.

The alert police personnel swiftly apprehended the individual and recovered approximately 2–3 grams of heroin-like substance from the discarded polythene. During his personal search, one ACE mobile phone was also recovered.

The accused has been identified as Vicky Kumar S/o Banarsi Lal R/o Sujadpur, Miran Sahib.

In this regard, FIR No. 77/2026 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation has been taken up.

Samba: May 31, 2026: Intensifying its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers in the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and recovered approximately 9.87 grams heroin-like substance (Chitta) alongwith one mobile phone & a digital weighing machine from his possession.

A Police team of Police Station Bari Brahmana during patrolling in the area established a Naka at Nihalki near Shiv Temple and intercepted a pedestrian who was coming from Sarore and moving towards Nihalki under suspicious circumstances. During frisking, approximately 9.87 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) alongwith one mobile phone & a digital weighing machine was recovered from his possession.

The drug peddler identified as Rakesh Kumar S/o Madan Lal R/o Ward No. 07 Near Chinta Mani Mandir, Katra district Reasi has been arrested and contraband item alongwith one mobile phone & a digital weighing machine has also been seized.

A case FIR No.140/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation started.

District Police Poonch Cracks Down on Drug Menace; Psychotropic Capsules/Tablets Seized

Poonch, May 30, 2026

In continuation of its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, District Police Poonch achieved a significant success during naka checking at Sailan.

Today, a police party of Police Post Behramgalla established a naka at Sailan and intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing Registration No. JK11J-0942 for checking. During the checking, 07 strips of Pregabalin capsules and 04 strips of Tramadol SR-100 tablets were recovered from the possession of the driver, namely Safdar Hussain S/o Mohd. Sharif R/o Sailan.

In total, 109 capsules/tablets of psychotropic substances were recovered and seized. In this regard, an FIR under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband.

District Police Poonch remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reiterates its resolve to make the district drug-free. The general public is urged to cooperate with the police and share information regarding any drug-related activities in their area.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Rural Police Jammu achieved another success under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering heroin-like substance from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, while conducting routine naka checking at Naka Panjal, intercepted a suspicious person who attempted to flee after noticing the police party.

Acting swiftly, the police team apprehended him and identified him as Sahil Sharma S/o Sham Lal R/o Jindrah, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu
During his personal search, approximately 4-5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. The accused failed to provide any satisfactory explanation regarding the recovered contraband.

In this regard, FIR No. 80/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation is underway.

and around 15 to 16 passengers were after a passenger bus overturned near Sangaldan area of Ramban district on Tuesday. Reports said the bus bearing registration number JK02CU/7482 was travelling from Dharam Gool towards Jammu when the driver reportedly l_ost control and the vehicle turned turtle on the roadside. Local residents police and traffic police teams immediately launched rescue operations and shifted the injured to nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said some inju_red passengers are stated to be critical. More details awaited.

Stabbing accused nabbed in 36 hours by Jammu Headquarters zone Police in Bishnah; Search underway for more

Jammu, May 19:

Headquarters zone Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting one accused within 36 hours in connection with a sharp weapon attack case reported in the Kothey Chorli area of Bishnah.

The case pertains to an incident wherein one person namely Vipin Kumar S/o Harbans Lal R/o Kothey Chorli, Bishnah was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon near Arman Fast Food following a personal dispute. The injured was immediately shifted to SDH Bishnah for medical treatment.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, Police Station Bishnah registered a case and initiated investigation.

During the course of investigation, a police team of Headquarters Zone Jammu apprehended one accused namely Sushil Kumar S/o Keemat Ram R/o Village Kothey Chorli, Bishnah within 36 hours of the incident.

Searches are underway to apprehend the other accused namely Bobby S/o Kimat Chand R/o kothey Chorli involved in the case. Police teams are conducting raids at multiple locations and further investigation is in progress.

Police Station Bahu fort Attach property under NDPS act

In a major action against drug trafficking and illegally acquired assets, Police Station Bahu Fort has attached an immovable property worth approximately Rs. 75 lakhs belonging to accused Navjot Singh @ Bablu S/o Amar Singh R/o Rinda Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu, involved in case FIR No. 104/2026 registered under sections 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act and Section 111 BNS.

During investigation, it came to fore that the said property situated at Village Sehora was acquired through proceeds of illicit narcotics trade. Accordingly, after following due legal procedure under the provisions section 68 F of NDPS Act, the property has been attached/frozen by Police Station Bahu Fort. Attachment notice was affixed on the property in the presence of Executive Magistrate.

The whole operation was carried out by SHO Police Station Bahu Fort assisted by Investigating Officer, IC PP Bathindi.

Jammu Rural Police Books Hardcore Criminal Under PSA

In a major crackdown against criminal elements, Jammu Rural Police booked a hardcore criminal under the provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) for his repeated involvement in violent criminal activities and lodged him in District Jail Bhaderwah.

The accused, Vikash Singh @ Vinay S/o Balbir Singh R/o Bomal (Kot Garhi), Akhnoor Jerda, District Jammu, was found continuously involved in offences posing a serious threat to public peace and order in the Akhnoor area.

The accused has a history of involvement in multiple criminal cases registered at Police Station Akhnoor, including offences related to assault, intimidation, rioting and Arms Act violations.

Despite repeated legal action, the accused continued his criminal activities, creating fear and insecurity among the public.
In view of his repeated involvement in heinous offences, Jammu Rural Police prepared and submitted a dossier to the District Magistrate Jammu for his detention under PSA.

Accordingly, after obtaining formal detention orders from the District Magistrate Jammu, the accused was detained under PSA and shifted to District Jail Bhaderwah.

Jammu Rural Police reiterated its commitment towards maintaining public order and taking strict action against habitual offenders and criminal elements.

Jammu (Rural) Police Apprehend Two Drug Peddlers with Heroin-Like Substances at Sidhra Naka

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved another success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering heroin-like substance during naka checking at Sidhra area.

On 17.05.2026, a police party of Police Post Sidhra, Police Station Nagrota, while performing naka checking duty at Sidhra, intercepted one E-Rickshaw bearing registration No. JK02DR-5932. During checking, two persons travelling in the vehicle were apprehended and identified as:
1. Kuldeep Kumar S/O Suresh Kumar

2. Sahil Kumar S/O Suresh Kumar
Both residents of Qasim Nagar, Narwal, Jammu.

During their search, approximately 6.17 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. The recovered contraband was seized and sealed on the spot as per legal procedure.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 134/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is underway.
