Krishna Swaminathan has officially assumed charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff, taking over leadership of the Indian Navy.

A highly decorated officer with decades of operational and command experience, Admiral Swaminathan will now lead the Navy at a time when India is accelerating maritime modernisation, indigenous shipbuilding, and strategic outreach across the Indo-Pacific.

His appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the force, with a continued focus on strengthening naval capabilities, enhancing maritime security, and safeguarding India's interests in the Indian Ocean Region.

The development has drawn attention across defence circles, with many viewing it as an important moment for the future direction of India's naval power.

Indian sprinter Gurindervir Singh has scripted history by becoming the fastest Indian ever in the men’s 100m sprint, clocking a sensational 10.09 seconds at the Federation Cup in Ranchi.

With this run, he became the first Indian athlete to break the 10.10-second barrier.

The record-breaking performance came after an intense sprint battle over two days, with the national record changing hands multiple times between Gurindervir Singh and Animesh Kujur.

Gurindervir’s final 10.09s run not only reclaimed the national record but also qualified him for upcoming international events.

The achievement has sparked massive excitement online, with fans calling it a historic moment for Indian athletics and a sign that Indian sprinting is entering a new era.

PM Modi’s global recognition continues to grow, with foreign governments repeatedly honouring him with their highest civilian awards.

From the **Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud (Saudi Arabia)** to the **Order of Zayed (UAE), Legion of Merit (USA), Grand Collar of the State of Palestine, Order of the Nile (Egypt), and several others**, PM Narendra Modi has received more foreign civilian honours than any Indian Prime Minister in recent history. Supporters see this as a reflection of India’s rising diplomatic stature and stronger global partnerships under his leadership.

For many, these awards are not just personal honours, but symbols of India’s expanding influence on the world stage.

India’s fuel price shield has finally cracked.

After weeks of absorbing global crude shocks triggered by the Iran conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, petrol and diesel prices have now been hiked by ₹3 per litre, the first major retail increase in nearly four years.

In Delhi, petrol has risen to ₹97.77/litre and diesel to ₹90.67/litre, with similar increases across metros. Reports suggest state-run oil companies had been taking heavy daily losses while holding prices steady.

For a country that imports nearly 85–90% of its crude oil needs, global conflict quickly hits household budgets through transport, logistics and inflation.

The bigger question now is whether this is a one-time correction or the start of a longer fuel price squeeze if West Asia tensions continue.

India’s CDS post may be young, but its legacy is already defining a new era of military leadership. 🇮🇳

General Bipin Rawat became India’s first Chief of Defence Staff in January 2020, tasked with driving jointness among the Army, Navy and Air Force, and pushing long-pending defence reforms. After his tragic death in a helicopter crash in December 2021, General Anil Chauhan took charge in September 2022, continuing the military modernisation push and theatre command integration efforts. Now, Lieutenant General N. S. Raja Subramani assumes the role, becoming the latest face of one of India’s most strategically significant defence appointments.

The CDS position was created to strengthen coordination between the armed forces and sharpen India’s military preparedness in an increasingly complex security environment.
