The Federation of Industries and Commerce J&K (CIC-JK) today, i.e. on 8th October 2025, held a press conference at the Press Club Jammu, highlighting the burning issues regarding the failure of the Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department to promote industrial spirit among local entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rakesh Sharma, President of CIC-JK, while addressing the media, shed light on issues related to the Industries and Commerce Department Jammu (SIDCO and I&C Department), which was once considered the backbone for the establishment of new industries and the development of existing ones in Jammu. He said the department has completely failed to encourage industrial enthusiasm among local entrepreneurs.

NSUI Jammu Kashmir Condemns Cow Smuggling Allegations Against BJP Leader Chander Mohan Gupta; Burns Effigy in Protest.
The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) Jammu Kashmir unit today staged a vehement protest outside the BJP headquarters in Jammu, burning the effigy of former Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor and BJP leader Chander Mohan Gupta. The demonstration, led by NSUI Jammu Kashmir President Ajay Lakhotra, highlighted the shocking FIR registered against Gupta and nine others for alleged involvement in cow smuggling at Bakshi Nagar Police Station.
