During our trip to Hyderabad, we discovered an amazing story about Paradise Biryani, known as the World's Famous Biryani. We've had their biryani before, but this time, we visited one of their stores in Hyderabad and learned more about their journey. Hyderabad is home to about 35 Paradise Biryani stores, and they also have around 25 branches in other cities across India.
The story behind Paradise Biryani is quite fascinating. It all began in 1953 when they started as a small canteen and café in a cinema theatre in Secunderabad. Since then, they've grown into a renowned brand known not only in Hyderabad but also internationally for their delicious biryanis. This unassuming establishment would go on to script the remarkable saga of the world-famous Paradise brand.
In those early days, this modest eatery, with just a hundred seats, embarked on a culinary journey that would eventually capture hearts and palates alike. It beckoned patrons with the irresistible allure of traditional Hyderabadi cuisine, notably the mouthwatering Biryani. The café also functioned as a general food store, catering to the needs of cinema-goers.
The turning point came in 1978 when Mr. A Hemati assumed the reins of the restaurant from his family's legacy. Recognizing the winds of change blowing through India's culinary landscape, he undertook an ambitious renovation to ensure Paradise remained relevant.
In 1983, a fresh chapter unfolded as Paradise unveiled an air-cooled multi-cuisine haven known as Paradise Persis Family Restaurant. Alongside this, the establishment birthed Paradise Takeaway, a concept that would soon sweep the region with its overwhelming popularity.
Then came 1987, a year of transition, as the curtains fell on the Paradise cinema theatre. Yet, the café and restaurant endured, standing steadfast, undeterred by the changing tides.
The transformative year of 1996 heralded a sweeping overhaul for Paradise. It expanded both vertically and horizontally, morphing into an expansive culinary haven.
By 2006, technology swept through Paradise like a gust of fresh air. Computerization and continual technological enhancements became the order of the day, ensuring efficiency and excellence. Paradise Biryani has embraced technology while preserving its authentic and delicious taste, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
In 2016, a dynamic team of seasoned professionals took charge, embarking on an ambitious mission. The Paradise brand spread its wings, venturing into new territories such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Gurugram. In Hyderabad, it extended its footprint with more outlets, promising a rich dining experience to an ever-expanding legion of patrons. The vision extended far beyond the borders of India, as Paradise set its sights on global expansion. Numerous celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan etc. have savored the delectable biryani at Paradise.
From its humble beginnings in a cinema canteen, Paradise had evolved into a global symbol of Hyderabadi culinary excellence. Its story continues to unfold, a testament to the enduring appeal of its flavours and the indomitable spirit of innovation.
