#डॉ. अंबेडकर के नाम पर बने पुस्तकालय का नाम बदलना जनता की भावनाओं के साथ खिलवाड़ : कुमारी सैलजा
जींद,अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी की महासचिव, कांग्रेस कार्यसमिति (सीडब्ल्यूसी) की सदस्य, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एवं सिरसा की सांसद कुमारी सैलजा ने शुक्रवार को जींद में भारत रत्न डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर के नाम से संचालित पुस्तकालय का नाम बदलकर अटल पुस्तकालय किए जाने के विरोध में आयोजित रोष प्रदर्शन में भाग लिया। इस दौरान उन्होंने सरकार पर तीखा हमला बोलते हुए कहा कि केवल पुराने भवनों और संस्थानों के नाम बदलने से विकास नहीं होता और न ही इससे किसी महापुरुष के योगदान को मिटाया जा सकता है।
अम्बेडकर चौक, रानी तालाब में प्रदर्शनकारियों को संबोधित करते हुए कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर के नाम पर संचालित पुस्तकालय का नाम बदलना करोड़ों लोगों की भावनाओं को आहत करने वाला कदम है। उन्होंने कहा कि पहले से बने और संचालित भवनों पर केवल नए फ्लेक्स बोर्ड लगाने से बाबा साहब का नाम इतिहास से नहीं मिटाया जा सकता। यदि सरकार पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के नाम पर सम्मान व्यक्त करना चाहती है तो नए विकास कार्य करे, नई योजनाएं शुरू करे और युवाओं के भविष्य को मजबूत बनाए।
उन्होंने कहा कि आज प्रदेश और देश का युवा बेरोजगारी, प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं में अनियमितताओं और अवसरों की कमी से जूझ रहा है। नीट जैसी परीक्षाओं में पेपर लीक की घटनाएं सामने आती हैं, युवाओं को रोजगार नहीं मिल रहा है और सरकार 12 वर्षों की उपलब्धियां दिखाने के लिए पुराने संस्थानों के नाम बदलने में लगी हुई है। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री से मांग की कि जनता की भावनाओं का सम्मान करते हुए इस निर्णय की समीक्षा की जाए तथा पुस्तकालय का नाम पुनः भारत रत्न डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर पुस्तकालय किया जाए।
कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि जनता अब नाम बदलने की राजनीति की वास्तविकता को समझ चुकी है। सरकार को अपनी नीयत स्पष्ट करनी चाहिए और समाज को बांटने वाले ऐसे कदमों से परहेज करना चाहिए। इसके उपरांत कुमारी सैलजा नरवाना क्षेत्र के गांव दनौदा कलां पहुंचीं, जहां उन्होंने सर्वजातीय बिनैन खाप के चबूतरे पर स्थापित सर्वजातीय बिनैन खाप पुस्तकालय का उद्घाटन किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने कहा कि पुस्तकालय किसी भी समाज की बौद्धिक और सांस्कृतिक चेतना के केंद्र होते हैं। पढ़ने की संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देना और युवाओं को ज्ञान से जोड़ना समय की आवश्यकता है। सांसद ने समाज के सभी वर्गों से शिक्षा और पुस्तकालय आंदोलन को मजबूत बनाने का आह्वान किया।

अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी की महासचिव, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एवं सांसद कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि सुश्री मीनाक्षी नटराजन का राज्यसभा चुनाव के लिए नामांकन रद्द किया जाना पूरी तरह असंवैधानिक और लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों के विपरीत कदम है। कांग्रेस पहले से ही यह कहती रही है कि भारतीय जनता पार्टी का लोकतंत्र और संविधान में वास्तविक विश्वास नहीं है और यह घटना एक बार फिर उसी आशंका को प्रमाणित करती है। सांसद ने कहा कि निर्वाचन आयोग के रवैये को लेकर भी लगातार सवाल उठते रहे हैं। देश ने कई अवसरों पर देखा है कि आयोग का व्यवहार अपेक्षित निष्पक्षता, स्वतंत्रता और पारदर्शिता से दूर दिखाई देता है। इस पूरे घटनाक्रम ने लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया की विश्वसनीयता पर गंभीर प्रश्नचिह्न खड़े कर दिए हैं।
कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि कांग्रेस इस निर्णय को हर लोकतांत्रिक और संवैधानिक मंच पर चुनौती देगी तथा न्याय प्राप्त करने के लिए उपलब्ध सभी संवैधानिक विकल्पों का उपयोग करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस का विश्वास लोकतंत्र, संविधान और संस्थाओं की गरिमा में है।
उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि भाजपा अपने 12 वर्षों के शासन का उत्सव मना रही है, लेकिन यह घटना दर्शाती है कि लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों और संवैधानिक मर्यादाओं को कमजोर करके किसी भी उपलब्धि का उत्सव नहीं मनाया जा सकता। लोकतंत्र को मजबूत करना ही किसी भी सरकार की सबसे बड़ी जिम्मेदारी होनी चाहिए।

Jind / Chandigarh / 12th June.
The General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, CWC Member, Former Union minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja joined a protest in Jind against the renaming of a library dedicated to Dr B.R. Ambedkar as the Atal Library. Criticising the move, she said development cannot be achieved merely by changing the names of existing institutions, nor can the contributions of great leaders be erased from history.
Addressing protesters at Ambedkar Chowk near Rani Talab, Kumari Selja said renaming a library that has long been associated with Dr Ambedkar had hurt the sentiments of millions of people. She said replacing signboards on existing institutions would not diminish the legacy of the architect of the Constitution. If the government wishes to honour former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, it should create new institutions, launch fresh development projects and strengthen opportunities for the youth,” she said.
Kumari Selja alleged that while young people were struggling with unemployment, irregularities in recruitment processes and limited opportunities, the government was focusing on renaming institutions instead of addressing pressing public concerns. Referring to examination-related controversies, she said students were facing uncertainty over their future and deserved greater attention from policymakers. She urged the chief minister to review the decision and restore the library’s original name in honour of Dr Ambedkar. “People have understood the reality behind the politics of renaming institutions. The government should avoid steps that create division and instead focus on public welfare,” she said.
Later, Kumari Selja visited Danoda Kalan village in the Narwana region, where she inaugurated the Sarvjatiya Binain Khap Library. She described libraries as centres of intellectual and cultural development and called for strengthening reading habits among the younger generation.

Reacting to the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination, Kumari Selja termed the move unconstitutional and contrary to democratic values. She alleged that the incident had raised serious questions about the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.
She said the Congress would challenge the decision through all available democratic and constitutional means and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to protecting democratic institutions and constitutional principles.
