Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand accompanied by MLAs, has set out for Jiribam by road in a renewed effort to reinforce peace and trust-building initiatives in the district bordering Assam.

The visit follows the Chief Ministerโ€™s earlier outreach to the region and is aimed at consolidating confidence among local communities. The delegation includes BJP Manipur President A. Sharda Devi and MLAs T. Robindro (Thanga), Sheikh Noorul Hassan (Kshetrigao), Heikham Dingko (Sekmai), Dr. S. Ranjan (Konthoujam), S. Premchandra (Kumbi), Sapam Kunjeshore (Patsoi), Khongkham Robindro (Mayang Imphal), and L. Rameshor (Keirao),Muhammad Achab Uddin (Jiribam).

During the visit, the team is expected to assess the ground situation, particularly focusing on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and affected communities in the region.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the delegation may proceed to the election-bound state of Assam after the Jiribam visit, though no official confirmation has been made.

The Chief Minister is also likely to initiate dialogue between leaders of both Meitei and Kuki communities, with an emphasis on maintaining stability and promoting peaceful coexistence in the state.

He is expected to arrive in Jiribam around 1 PM today.
