Celebrating World Environment Day with Knowledge and Action!
On the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5, 2025), the Bhilwara unit of Vigyaan Bharati organized a powerful seminar at Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Subhash Nagar. This inspiring event brought together educators, environmentalists, and thought leaders to reflect on sustainable living, ecological balance, and India’s traditional wisdom in harmony with nature.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of the book “Rural Economy and Sustainable Development” authored by Dr. B.L. Jagetiya, Dr. Saurabh Singh, and Dr. Chetna Kumawat, and published by Scientific Publishers, Jodhpur.
In his keynote, Dr. B.L. Jagetiya emphasized how the five elements gifted by nature—earth, water, fire, air, and sky—form the essence of life, and how reckless modern development threatens this balance. He raised critical concerns like deforestation, water pollution, and plastic waste, while also highlighting the solutions found in Indian philosophy and grassroots knowledge.
Dr. Kalpana Sharma, President’s Award recipient and DEO, shared inspirational environmental practices from her work that reflect innovation at the ground level.
The event also featured experience-sharing by attendees engaged in environmental conservation, and ended with heartfelt thanks by Rajendra Sharma, a vibrant introduction by Chandraprakash Maloo, and warm coordination by Dr. Sunil Rai Porwal.
The book launched explores the link between rural economy and environmental sustainability, offering fresh insights into policy, development, and local wisdom for a greener future.
