CM Prem Singh Tamang Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Discusses Sikkim’s Development and Extends Invitation to Visit State
New Delhi | Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi and conveyed the people of Sikkim’s profound gratitude for his visionary leadership, continued support, and encouragement that have guided the state’s journey of peace, progress, and prosperity.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister congratulated the Prime Minister on the historic launch of GST 2.0, describing it as a transformative reform aimed at strengthening ease of doing business, empowering small and medium enterprises, advancing cooperative federalism, and reducing the tax burden on citizens.
CM Tamang also recalled the Prime Minister’s gracious consent to visit Sikkim during the Golden Jubilee of Statehood in May 2025, which had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. He shared that the Prime Minister’s message of encouragement had filled every Sikkimese heart with pride and once again extended a warm invitation for him to visit Sikkim towards the end of November 2025.
The Chief Minister further apprised the Prime Minister of several long-pending issues of historical, social, political, and cultural importance for his kind consideration. In response, the Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for Sikkim’s unity, cultural richness, and steady progress, assuring his positive support for the state’s aspirations.
Expressing optimism following the meeting, CM Tamang stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Sikkim will continue to move forward with strength, purpose, and dignity toward a golden, prosperous, and secure future.
