Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) convened a coordination meeting of its Pakyong District Committee at Rhenock in preparation for the upcoming visit of Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji to Sikkim.
The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Minister cm Secretary General Shri Arun Upreti, and attended by Hon’ble Minister cm Area MLA Shri Puran Kumar Gurung, Advisor to HCM Shri Bishnu Kumar Khatiwara, Political Secretary Shri Bikash Basnet, Deputy Mayor Smt. Tshering Palden Bhutia, Zilla Adhyaksha Smt. Ladenla Bhutia, Zilla Upa Adhyaksha Smt. Prava Pradhan, Ex-MLA Shri Hemedra Adhikari, Vice President Incharge (Pakyong District) Shri Milan Silal, chairpersons, OSDs, CLC Presidents, Zilla Panchayats, Panchayats, and other party functionaries.
The meeting began with a welcome address by Chairman Shri Karma Tashi Bhutia, followed by speeches from Shri Sabin S***a (Pakyong District Youth Convenor), Smt. Prava Pradhan, Shri Milan Silal, Shri Bikash Basnet, Shri Puran Gurung, and Shri Arun Upreti.
It was briefed that Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji will arrive in Gangtok on October 25, 2025, to grace the celebrations of 50 Years of Sikkim’s Statehood, and on October 26, he is expected to attend the event at Rhenock Senior Secondary School under Chujachen Constituency, where he will address the gathering under the ‘Vibrant Village’ initiative envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
During the preparatory meeting, discussions were held on volunteer management, public participation, logistics, and overall coordination to ensure the event’s grand success.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Minister Shri Puran Gurung expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) for selecting Chujachen Constituency as one of the venues for this historic visit. He assured full cooperation from all stakeholders and called for unity among all members to make the programme a memorable success.
In his address, Hon’ble Minister cm Secretary General Shri Arun Upreti highlighted that this visit is a moment of pride for Sikkim and a reflection of the strong bond between HCM Shri Prem Singh Tamang and the Union Government. He stated that Shri Amit Shah Ji’s visit marks a significant milestone in Sikkim’s history and will benefit the state immensely.
He urged party workers to extend full support and coordination with the concerned departments and ensure a heartfelt and rousing welcome to the Hon’ble Home Minister. He also personally reviewed the ongoing preparations and guided the team on various logistical aspects.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolution to make the upcoming visit a grand and historic success.
