Devidayal related an interesting event in his book: the Daily Routine of Dr. Ambedkar. This is translated from the Hindi version though.
Due to his falling health and growing weakness, Babasabeb Ambedkar wanted to publish and the first book to be written and published on the priority was: The Buddha and His Dhamma.
It was Sunday, the 2nd of November 1951.
After finishing his breakfast, Babasaheb Ambedkar lighted a candle and incenses before the Buddha Rupa,
And then he called Devidayal to his room.
When Devidayal went to him, Babasaheb Ambedkar looked at him from the top of his gold-rimmed glasses and spread his enchanting smile on Devidayal. And Babasaheb's face brightened. Then like a kind father, he patted my back and handing over his color marked written copies, he said: looking at your faith, commitment, devotion, and revolve, I feel that in you I found a suitable young man who I was searching for a long time. Now that I have you, I am relieved of worries about publication of my books. Go ! And start the work !!
His will to publish his books had become stronger. Devidayal writes : This will cannot be expressed in words, but only be felt. Despite of his failing health, most of the times he was writing, reading, getting written and typing the work all day and night. He did not get up from his chair and did not allow Devidayal to get up. Whenever he retired in his bed, lying on his bed he would revise the drafts and sometimes he would cut out the parts and add on. He would number the pages, make paragraphs, and re-type. This used to happen two or three times. As a result of this exercise, his bed used to look like a godown.
He used to go to washroom for a while. He was busy all the time. He would at times eat his meals in his study room only.
