জীবন নদীর এক প্রান্তে,
আছি আমি দাঁড়িয়ে
অন্য প্রান্ত হাতছানি দেয়
ভালোবাসা নাই রে।
বুঝিয়ে দেয় সে,
একূল যদি গড়ে রাখি,
ওকূল দেব ভেঙে
এই শুনে প্রিয় বলে
নদী যদি গড়তে যানে,
