শিল্প ও স্থাপত্যের বিকাশে পিছিয়ে থাকা এক ক্ষুদ্র সংস্কৃতির নাম কাকদ্বীপ , এখানকার মানুষ প্রধানত মাছ ধরে ও কৃষিকাজ করে জীবনযাপন করে , অর্থনৈতিক দিক থেকে অনেকটাই পিছিয়ে আছে এই শহর ।

Kakdwip is the heart of South Sundarban. It is a small town in south 24 pgs District of West Bengal. This is the head quarter of kakdwip Sub-division. The people of Kakdwip survive in the rural area of riverside. The city positions itself in a quite backward zone when it comes to Industrial & Architectural development. The people of this town usually survives depending of fishing & farming of crop, economically speaking Kakdwip finds itself quite behind from other major towns.
