The Glorious Return of the Sahid Cup – Kalimpong 2025

With a hope to see the spirit of football in the hills rising again!
After years of silence, the Sahid Cup—once a prestigious and emotionally significant football tournament—returns to Kalimpong this September 2025, proudly revived by the Kalimpong United Veterans Club.
First initiated to honour the brave martyrs of our land, this tournament was more than a sporting event; it was a symbol of unity, pride, and the indomitable spirit of the hills. Over time, it quietly disappeared from our calendars—but its memory has always lived on in the hearts of football lovers.
This year, KUVC intends to bring that memory back to life—with passion, purpose, and pride.
The revived Sahid Cup will feature top teams and professional players and will serve as a stage for young talents to witness and learn the game from some of the finest. It aims to bridge generations through football, reigniting the energy and enthusiasm that once made this tournament a crown jewel of the region.
Join us as we celebrate football, honour the fallen, and build a stronger future for the sport in our hills.

KHS B and KHS C of Kumudini Homes Higher Secondary School. Best wishes and regards for the independence shield tournament 2025.

Congratulations to Kumudini Homes C, led by Coach Samuel Sir on their 4-0 win against Jubilee Higher Secondary School. They will now take on Mt. Zion Academy in the quarterfinals on July 25th. Best of luck to the team.

We are immensely proud to share that Chogyal Sherpa, a former member of KUMUD FC Kalimpong , has joined the prestigious and highly decorated Gorkha Regiment. His remarkable achievement brings immense pride not only to our team but also to the entire Kalimpong community.
It’s worth mentioning that he is not alone in making us proud. Two or three other former players from our team are currently thriving in different capacities across India. Their names will be shared in due time, as their achievements deserve recognition as well.
For now, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Chogyal Sherpa. May God bless him with strength, health, and unyielding energy as he embarks on this honorable path. Bravo, Chogyal! You are and will always remain a source of inspiration for us all.
