Land Survey Conducted for Proposed Kalimpong Medical College at UVKV Site
Today, an important land survey and site inspection for the proposed Kalimpong Medical College was conducted at the UVKV land area in the presence of representatives from the District Magistrate's Office, CMOH Office, Land & Land Reforms Department, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UVKV), and Bharatiya Janata Party representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bharat Chetri stated that the establishment of a Medical College in Kalimpong is a long-awaited dream of the people and a major step towards improving healthcare, medical education, and employment opportunities in the district. The survey marks a significant milestone in taking the project forward.
Shri Chetri expressed his gratitude to Hon'ble Member of Parliament Shri Raju Bista ji for his continuous efforts and unwavering support in pursuing developmental projects for the hills, particularly the demand for a Medical College in Kalimpong. He also thanked the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership and the BJP Government for their commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring balanced development in the region.
The people of Kalimpong have aspired for a Medical College for many years. Today's survey brings us one step closer to making this dream a reality, said MLA Bharat Chetri.
The proposed Medical College is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services, create educational opportunities for local students, generate employment, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Kalimpong district.
MLA Bharat Chetri further reaffirmed his commitment to continue raising the aspirations of the people and pursuing developmental initiatives that will benefit future generations of Kalimpong.
