The Forgotten Fortress of Delhi 🏰
Lal Kot, built in 736 CE by Tomar king Anangpal (yes, the same name inscribed on Delhi’s Iron Pillar), was Delhi’s original Red Fort—long before Shah Jahan’s Lal Qila. 🏹

Later expanded by Prithviraj Chauhan into Qila Rai Pithora, it became a massive 13-gated fort city. 🛡️ But by 1192, the Chauhan rule ended after their defeat by Qutubuddin Aibak, paving the way for the Delhi Sultanate.

Ruins still whisper history around Mehrauli, Qutub Minar & Saket. Even the Iron Pillar—brought from Udayagiri—stands as a symbol of Rajput glory.
