Continuing our report "Musical Chairs," we delve into the perspectives of various stakeholders involved in Charge transfer for the Chairperson of the Students’ Senate position at IIT Kanpur. Due to differing interpretations of the eligibility criteria, a resolution remains elusive. As the charge handover approaches on 2nd May, the question lingers: "Who sits when the music stops?"

As has been the precedent in IITK’s history, a few students from our institute got selected for the prestigious Google Summer of Code 2023. Vox congratulates the selected students on their well-deserved success.

GSoC is a global program by Google for university students to learn about and get involved in open source. It is a unique program where students are paired with a mentor to introduce them to the open-source community and provide guidance while they work on a real-world open-source project during their summer break.

While the academic area echoed with slogans throughout the day, and students gathered to raise their concerns, a remarkable sense of unity and solidarity emerged.
The three incidents, which shook the student community, ultimately led to this protest on January 19th, which extended over 9 hours. Check out the slides to know the reforms accepted by the Director in discussion with the student executives.

Vox Populi is the campus journalism body of IIT Kanpur. With a dynamic and vibrant core group (currently 30 active members), it has successfully inculcated an appreciation for journalism on campus in just 3 years. We try to cover as many facets of journalism as possible including event/news reporting, long articles, surveys, editorials/opinions, interviews (written and video), photojournalism and humorous videos during Orientation and other campus events. With a horizontal team structure and minimal hierarchy, Vox is always open to ideas/suggestions from its members and from any concerned member of the campus community.
