Reasons Short Movie Making Competition-An IIT Kanpur students' initiative. Judging Criterion :

All the entries for the competition will be uploaded on this page.

Reasons is a group of some young and enthusiastic persons having a common passion about film making, Young and aspiring film makers specially in India face trouble in finding a good platform to showcase their talent, thus this initiative was needed. This platform offers you to compete against some of the best film makers in India and also grab a good amount of money to boost your career. The foll

owing are the rules for the evaluation of the entries.

1) The evaluation of each entry will consist of two parts. Each entry will be scored on a scale of 100 points.

2) 30% of the score will be on the basis of number of facebook likes to the video. The video obtaining the highest number of likes will score 30 and the number of likes of all other videos will be scaled down in the same ratio to get the score i.e. Score = (No. of likes to the video) / (No of likes of the most liked video) x 30

The likes considered will be as on 27th 23:59:59 hours of each month.

3) The other 70% will be as per the judges evaluation for the competition. Effective portrayal of theme, Direction, Camera-Work, Editing, Cinematography, Lighting, Acting, Sound design and overall impact. These would be the criteria for the judging of juries. Each holds equal share. Note: In case you are sharing the link on facebook for promoting the video make sure to get the likes on the original video and not on the shared link.

Apart from the 30% to FB likes, the other 70% will be as per the judges evaluation for the competition.

A new theme for the video has been added besides the earlier ones:

# Mystery
# Adventure
# Love story
You can prepare your video on any of the above themes.

Plus, the last date for submission has been extended upto 27 MARCH.
So guys, start working on the videos . . there is ample time to produce a quality video and chance to win big prize money.

Hi all,
Some updates -
1. Registrations for March'12 contest are open now.
2. Feb'12 winners...kindly note that the prize money along with the certificates would be dispatched by 10th march.
3. The prize money could be send via net banking or check.. whatever you choose kindly mail us with the details of the name and the account clearly.

A couple of changes in the scheme of things for the March'12 contest :

1. The prize money would be 40K INR if not more.
2. The weightage to FB likes would be 30% this time.

The competition was very tough. Some of the entries were really very good.
It was a very close call to pick the best 2.
All the winning contestants are required to submit their addresses. Also send us the names of the 3 persons involved in the video in order to get their name on the certificate of appreciation. Mail us at [email protected]

The competition goes on now in March. The themes would be declared on the website and here on FB also. The registrations starts on 5th March.
