Deeply saddened to inform that passengers carrying truck from Borpung to Chowkihola got into an accident this morning near Sarihuti, where two persons succumbed to their injuries. It was reported that Chowkihola BPHC did not have ambulance service for over a year and the Doctor in-charge of the hospital chamber closed for months. A glimpses from yesterday's Observation of World Environment Day at Ram Lekthe LP school, Sarihuti under Nilip constituency of Karbi Anglong.
The program conveyed message on the importance of Environment and it's conservation to the students, audiovisual message was delivered by Sarbong Rongphar (Master in Environmental Science). Conservative steps taken by the Forest man of India, Padmashree Jadav Payeng was also screened during the event. A fun learning competition of Bird identification in local names was conducted which encourages the Youth to focus both on conservation of Nature and Language as well.

Mirjir Terangpi(Age-2), daughter of Pheberson Terang and Anti Timungpi of Moi Kro village suffered serious burns on 31.03.26. Upon hearing, a kind hearted Youth Arjun Tokbi of Sarthe Tokbi village provides a financial assistance for medical expenses.
We appreciate his effort and support for the people of Chowkihola,Nilip.

Today we light candles in memory of two brave fighter pilots who made the ultimate sacrifice. In their final moments, they chose courage and responsibility, steering their aircraft away from a populated area to prevent harm to innocent lives. Their actions reflect the highest spirit of duty and heroism.

To the families of these fallen heroes, we extend our deepest condolences. Please know that your loved ones will always be remembered with honor and gratitude, for they gave their lives while saving others.
