In a bold community initiative, women of Adarsha Krishnanagar village launched an anti Alcohol drive on July 19 to reclaim the main village road from evening drinkers who have been creating nuisance for over 3–4 years. The road located in front of Dullavchhara CVP Higher Secondary School is vital for daily commute and connects agricultural fields, a sub center and a model Anganwadi center.

Due to constant littering of broken alcohol bottles in farmlands, villagers were facing both safety and farming challenges. Despite several warnings, the issue persisted. On Saturday night, around 9 PM, a group of determined women patrolled the road, warning that legal action would be taken against anyone found drunk in the area. They vowed to continue the operation without compromise and urged the Ratabari police for support. The movement was led by ward members, social workers and community leaders including Deepa Sinha, Rita Sinha, Mrinal Sinha, Jagadananda Sinha and others.

Serious questions are being raised about the political stance of Congress worker Pilu Sinha Pratap, who also holds the position of General Secretary in the unregistered and disputed Mahasabha. His participation in a recent Mahasabha felicitation event attended largely by BJP-affiliated individuals has sparked speculation that he may be indirectly supporting the BJP and Minister Krishnendu Paul in Patharkandi.

The Mahasabha, known for aligning with ruling parties over the years, is now widely seen as acting in favour of the BJP. Critics argue that the organization has become a political tool used to influence the Bishnupriya Manipuri community. Retired Indian Army Ratan Mani Sinha was appointed as the new President of Imaa Bishnupriya Manipuri (IBM) Organization during the Annual General Meeting held on July 13 in Fultali, Koilashar, in Tripura. This historic appointment marks the first time a retired Army personal has taken charge of the community’s leading apex body, Imaa Bishnupriya Manipuri (IBM), A Social organization. The Bishnupriya Manipuri community expressed hope that under Ratan Mani Sinha’s leadership, especially in Tripura, issues such as the implementation of NEP 2020 and other key challenges will be addressed effectively. The Annual General Meeting of IBM (Imaa Bishnupriya Manipuri), a leading Parent social organization of the Bishnupriya Manipuri community was held on 13th July in Fultali village, Koilashahar, Tripura. The event saw the presence of IBM dignitaries, members and over 400 community supporters. The murti of revered Vaishnav Guru Shri Shri Bhuboneswar Sadhu Thakur, installed at Shri Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Mandir, popularly known as Daka Dakhina Temple, at Srikuna of Cachar district in Barak Valley is reportedly facing neglect.
