ब्रिटेन से मुक्त व्यापार समझौते को अंतिम रूप देने के बाद पीएम नरेन्द्र मोदी शुक्रवार को अपने पड़ोसी देश मालदीव पहुंचे। वहां उनकी राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद मुइज्जू से मुलाकात हुई और दोनों नेताओं के बीच सहमति बनी कि भारत और मालदीव शीघ्र ही द्विपक्षीय निवेश समझौता (बीआईटी) करेंगे और मुक्त व्यापार समझौता (एफटीए) करने के लिए वार्ता शुरू करने की सहमति बन गई।

हिंद महासागर में स्थित इस देश को लुभाने में चीन की बेहद सक्रिय कूटनीति को देखते हुए भारत ने मालदीव को कई तरह से मदद पहुंचाने की भी घोषणा की। इसमें 4850 करोड़ रुपये की आर्थिक मदद (लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट-एलओसी) देने का एलान किया और पूर्व में भारत की आर्थिक मदद की अदाएगी की शर्तों में भारी राहत दी, जिससे मालदीव सरकार का आर्थिक बोझ बहुत कम हो जाएगा।

*Udhampur Police booked notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Udhampur*

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the District. Police in Udhampur have booked 01 notorious drug peddler namely Mudassir S/O Latif R/O A/P Dhanori near Birma Bridge Udhampur under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The said accused person was promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of District Udhampur. His activities posed a serious threat to public health and safety.

It is pertinent to mention that many cases were registered against the said drug peddler.

*J&K POLICE KATHUA NABBED 01 DRUG PEDDLER WITH APPROX. 7.96 GMS OF HE**IN (CHITTA) LIKE NARCOTICS AT KHANPUR NEAR BANYARI BRIDGE P/S RAJBAGH*

KATHUA, 25 JULY: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralised the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* today recovered approx. 7.96 grams of He**in (Chitta) like narcotics at Khanpur near Banyari Bridge area of PS Rajbagh, 01 drug peddler was arrested alongwith narcotics substance got seized on spot.

On 25-07-2025 a Police team led by SHO P/S Rajbagh Insp. Ajay Singh Chib under the supervision of *SP Ops. Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS* and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch during naka checking at Khanpur near Banyari Bridge noticed one suspect who was directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 7.96 grams of He**in (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of Omkar Bhagat S/o Raj Kumar R/o Hamirpur District Kathua.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 7.96 grams He**ine like substance was seized and one drug peddler was arrested.On this a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

*NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL/HISTORY SHEETER BOOKED UNDER PSA BY P/S BILLAWAR*

KATHUA; 25 JULY:- In a major success against criminal activities Kathua Police has booked a notorious criminal/History Sheeter under PSA following multiple involvements in many criminal cases.

On the directions of District Magistrate Kathua a detention warrant vide Order No. PSA /170 of 2025 dated 22- 07-2025 was issued against the accused *Harish Kumar @ Shally S/o Narinder Kumar R/o Ward No.06 , Billawar Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua.*

Police team of Police Station Billawar led by SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the guidance of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* arrested the accused and executed the said warrant under section 8 (1) (A) of J&K Public Safety Act 1978 was issued against the accused by District Magistrate Kathua after receiving the dossier from district police against the accused.

The said accused was habitual of indulging in criminal activities and there was many criminal cases in which accused was involved. Detail of the cases are as under :-

2. FIR No 42/2017 U/S 307/341/323/34/RPC, 3/25 Arms Acr of PS Hiranagar

4. FIR No.71/2025 U/S 307/115(2)/351/352/BNS of PS Hiranagar

Finally today the warrant was executed and the accused person was sent to District Jail Rajouri.

ACB arrests Patwari for accepting bribe in Jammu

Jammu, Jul 25 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday said to trapped and arrested a Patwari from Patwar Halqa Dansal, Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000.

A spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that public servant namely Chuni Lal, Patwari Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for providing demarcation report.

"The accused Chuni Lal, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Dansal, demanded the bribe amounting to Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant for providing report of demarcation and after negotiation, the accused Chuni Lal has agreed to receive Rs 75,000 and demanded 1st installment of Rs 25,000 as bribe. However, the complainant could not arrange Rs 25,000 as 1st installment and instead he managed to arrange Rs 20,000 only," the spokesman said.

"Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay a bribe he approached ACB for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law," he added.

On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up, he said.

"During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted rank officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team," the spokesman added.

"Moreover, searches were also conducted in the office and in-laws house of the accused in presence of independent witnesses and Magistrates," ACB said, adding that further investigation of the instant case is going on—(KNO)
