*9th POLICE MARTYRS MEMORIAL T-20 CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDED*

The 9th Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Cricket championship concluded at Sports Stadium Kathua here today.
Sh. Dilbag Singh, IPS Director General of Police was the chief guest of today’s event.
The DGP J&K complimented the Kathua Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee for their efforts in organizing T-20 Cricket Championship. He also appreciated the people of Kathua for their support to this championship.He later on distributed trophies and prizes among the winner and runner-up teams. He also paid tribute to the martyrs and personally interacted with the martyr families and distributed gifts among them.He thanked the Shaheed Welfare Committee,all sponsors and Organizers for their outstanding contribution.
Earlier, SSP Kathua Dr. Shailendra Mishra, IPS welcomed the guests and gave a brief of the tournament and other sport initiatives which were taken by the distt. Police during 2020.Besides senior officers from police and civil administration, a large gathering witnessed the final match and the closing ceremony.
In total, Sixteen teams participated in the championship.Today's Final match was played between L.B Shastri Cricket Club Delhi and Haryana Cricket Academy. After winning the toss, Haryana Cricket Academy decided to field. Batting first L.B Shastri Club set a target of 119 in 20 overs while chasing the target Haryana Cricket Club could scored 95 runs in 20 overs by losing 09 wickets.
Yash Garg was declared the Man of the Match who scored 13 runs and clinched 02 wickets. He was awarded with cash prize of Rs.21000/- alongwith trophy. Title of Man of Series was won by Vikas Diksh*t who scored 107 runs and clinched 12 wickets in the series and was awarded Maruti Car Alto 800.
Mr. Harsh*t Koushak was declared the Best Bowler who took 08 wickets and Mr. Dheeru was declared the Best Batsman who scored 134 run

*Lt Governor declares ‘Heavy Snowfall’ as state specific Natural Calamity under SDRF*

*4x4 rescue vehicles / ambulances to be provided to snow affected Districts with immediate effect*

*Lauds efforts of employees working 24x7 on ground in challenging climatic conditions*

JAMMU, JANUARY 10: Extending the much needed relief to the people of snow bound areas, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha declared ‘Heavy Snowfall’ as state specific Natural Calamity under SDRF norms.

The Lieutenant Governor was chairing a meeting to take stock of the winter management, particularly, snow clearance efforts of Administration, with all DCs and SSPs of Kashmir Division, through virtual mode, at the Raj Bhavan here today.

Pertinently, ‘Heavy Snowfall’ was not figuring in the list of ‘Natural Calamities’ under SDRF norms, due to which disbursement of relief and ex-gratia for the damages due to heavy snowfall was not possible for the Districts’ Disaster Management Authorities.

Due to declaration of ‘Heavy Snowfall’ as a ‘Natural Calamity’; processing of ex-gratia relief under SDRF will become faster, thereby giving a huge relief to the affected public of snow bound areas.

The Lt Governor sought a detailed report on issues and problems faced by the public due to heavy snowfall and future course of action of the Administration at all levels to overcome the challenges thereof.

On being apprised about the shortage of small rescue vehicles for the movement of people requiring medical assistance, particularly, in remote areas and areas having narrow lanes, the Lt Governor directed that 4x4 rescue vehicles / ambulances be provided to snow affected Districts with immediate effect for helping the people in distress.

The Lt Governor asked the officers to be more sensitive and responsive to the issues of the public and take requisite measures to minimize the difficulties of common people.

*DISTRIBUTION PROCESS OF COVID-19 KIT CONTINUES IN KATHUA BY DISTT. POLICE*

Kathua, 27 December:

Jammu and Kashmir Police has endeavor to proactively support the needy families. In pursuance, distt. Police under the aegis of civic action programme distributed COVID-19 safety kits among the destitute BPL families in Kathua. Although contribution in every aspect is being made by J&K Police to prevent spread of Covid-19 since its onset.
Continuing such efforts,today Add. SP Sh. Ramnish Gupta JKPS, alongwith SDPO Border Sh. Sachit Mahajan and other officers held the distribution function in PS Rajbagh and Covid safety kits including masks, Sanitizers, Oximeter, Inhalers, Digital Thermometer, Soaps, face shields and other related items were distributed among the 50 poor and needy families in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh.Technical assistance to use these equipments also given to the beneficiaries on spot.
Addl. Sp Kathua Sh Ramnish Gupta JKPS, has requested to the general public to adopt all precautionary measures to stay away from Covid-19 pandemic.
