𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟴:In a determined effort to crack down on illegal liquor smuggling in the district, Reasi Police nabbed a person with 37 quarter bottles of illicit DMB whiskey during routine checking.

At around 18:30 hours, a suspicious individual identified as Mohan Lal S/O Gandarbh R/O Kun Darorian, Tehsil Katra, was intercepted by the police while walking from Manthal side towards Katra, carrying a bag on his shoulder.
Upon checking the bag, 37 quarter bottles (250 ml each) of DMB whiskey were recovered.

Taking swift action, FIR No. 192/2025 U/S 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at P/S Katra and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the illicit liquor.

The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣/𝗦 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽. 𝗞𝗵𝘆𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗗𝗣𝗢 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘆, 𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦.

This action highlights the commitment of District Police Reasi under the guidance of SSP Reasi 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 -𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦 to curb the menace of illegal liquor trade and maintain law & order in the holy town of Katra and surrounding areas.

District Police Reasi appeals to the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help build a safer and crime-free society.

JKCA appoints Selectors for 2025-26 season; Sarabjeet to chair Sr Men's Selection Committee

JAMMU, July 7: Pursuant to the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) including Abdul Qayoom, Vidhya Bhaskar and Meenu Singh Slathia, the Sub Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has approved the appointment of Selectors for the season 2025-26 with immediate effect.

Hugely experienced First Class Cricketer, Sarabjeet Singh has been appointed as the Chairperson of Senior Men's Selection Committee. Sarabjeet has the distinction of representing J&K and Services in 91Ranji Trophy, 72 List A and 7 T20 matches as wicketkeeper batsman. Experienced campaigners Dhruv Mahajan and Arshad Bhat are the other two members of Senior Men's Selection Committee.

The Junior Men's Selection Committee includes Arun Sharma as the Chairperson, while Samiullah Beigh, Jagtar Singh and Vikrant Taggar are the members.

Ankita Jalla has been appointed as the Chairperson of Senior Women's Selection Committee, while Anuradha Sharma and Masrat Ahad are the other two members.

Pratibha Bhasin has been appointed as the Chairperson of Junior Women's Selection Committee, with Payal Chaudhary, Nusrat Jan and Hinan Maqbool as the members.
