Shrine Board organises Excursion Tour to Amritsar for Frontline Cleanliness Warriors
Katra, July 14: In a remarkable initiative to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the Swachhta Sahayaks who have been working tirelessly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the Shrine areas, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has organized a 5-day excursion tour to Amritsar (Pb.) from 14-18 July, for these frontline cleanliness warriors.
Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB lauded the dedication and hard work of the Swachhta Sahayaks while acknowledging their critical contribution to ensuring a clean and hygienic environment in the Shrine area for the visiting devotees. He exhorted that through this journey, the participants will not only enjoy a change of scenery and pace but also gain a deeper appreciation for India's legacy of sacrifice, spirituality and resilience.
The initiative is in pursuance to directions of Hon’ble Lt. Governor, JK-UT (Chairman, SMVDSB) to regularly promote staff welfare and motivation through meaningful engagements. By offering this experiential tour, the Board intends to boost morale among the Swachhta Sahayaks, encourage team bonding and foster a sense of pride and belonging in the noble service they provide, he added.
The first batch, comprising around 19 Swachhta Sahayaks alongwith their families was flagged off today from Katra by Satish Sharma, Jt. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB alongwith other Shrine officers / officials. Jt. CEO added that this thoughtfully planned excursion tour is aimed at providing Swachhta Sahayaks a much-deserved break and an opportunity to explore the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of one of India’s most revered cities. The group will visit prominent places such as the Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Jallianwala Bagh and the other key landmarks. He informed that meticulous arrangements have been made for comfortable transportation, accommodation and meals through their respective supervisors, ensuring a memorable experience for the participants.
Notably, the Shrine Board has been consistently taking steps to enhance the well-being of its workforce through skill development, rewards programs, health check-ups and motivational activities. This excursion sets an example of proactive employee engagement.

Central University of Jammu Awarded ‘A’ Grade for the Third Consecutive Time in NPTEL SWAYAM Certification

Jammu, 14 July 2025: The Central University of Jammu has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, with its SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter being awarded an ‘A’ Grade for the third consecutive time in the recently declared results of the NPTEL SWAYAM January–July 2025 session.

This consistent recognition reflects the University’s outstanding performance in online learning initiatives. In this session alone, 28 students were awarded Gold Medals, 237 students received Silver Medals, and 335 students earned Elite Certifications. Furthermore, 8 students ranked in the top 1%, 3 students in the top 2%, and 21 students in the top 5% at the national level—an impressive feat highlighting the dedication and excellence of CU Jammu’s learners.

The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a flagship initiative by the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, offering self-study online certification courses in engineering, science, and humanities through the SWAYAM platform.

Congratulating the students and faculty, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain remarked, “This achievement is a reflection of our continued efforts to empower students with the best learning resources beyond the classroom. Securing an ‘A’ grade for the third time and ranking among the top 100 institutions in India is indeed a proud moment for the university.” He also appreciated the contributions of Prof. J. N. Baliya, SPOC, SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter, for his committed efforts in coordinating and promoting this initiative.

Prof. Baliya, sharing the achievement, stated that the SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter at Central University of Jammu, established in 2017, has been consistently facilitating the enrollment and successful completion of NPTEL courses. He also highlighted that students from the Department of Physics received a Special Disciplinary Award for their exceptional performance in the NPTEL examinations. Prof. Baliya has also been invited to IIT Kanpur for a felicitation ceremony in recognition of the Local Chapter’s success.

This milestone underlines Central University of Jammu’s growing prominence in digital and technology-enhanced learning, offering students and faculty opportunities to gain advanced skills and certifications from India's premier institutes like the IITs and IISc Bangalore.

DC Reasi Inaugurates Shrawan Mahotsav with Devotional Fervor at Shiv Khori Shrine

Reasi, 14 July: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, IAS, who also serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), today inaugurated the Shrawan Mahotsav on the first Monday of the Shrawan month, i.e., 14th July, at the revered Shiv Khori Shrine in Ransoo with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervor. The month of Shrawan extends from 11th July to 9th August 2025.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, adding grandeur and coordinated planning to the religious celebration.

The Mahotsav commenced with a grand Kavad Yatra, which started from the Darshani Deodi at Ransoo Base Camp and culminated at the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva. Deputy Commissioner along with Devotees,carrying ornately decorated Kavad on their shoulders, chanted religious hymns.
After this Rudhrabhishek was also performed inside the Holy Cave of Shivkhori which was followed by Hawan at Hawan Kund Bhawan near Shrine.The Deputy Commissioner also joined both the rituals.

During this holy month, cultural and religious programmes like the Kavad Yatra will be held every Monday, i.e., on 14th July, 21st July, 28th July, and 4th August. The Shiv Puran Katha will be held from 27th July to 4th August, and a Bhajan Sandhya will be organized on 4th August, attracting large numbers of devotees and creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik extended her greetings to the devotees and emphasized the importance of the Shrawan month in Hindu tradition. She lauded the efforts of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, the Department of Tourism, and the district administration for making elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Mahotsav and the safety and convenience of pilgrims.

DC Reasi further highlighted the role of the Mahotsav in promoting religious tourism and enriching the cultural heritage of the district. She emphasized that all necessary arrangements by the district administration, such as adequate water and electricity supply, medical aid, and fire safety, are in place to ensure the smooth organization of the religious festival.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board dedicates five Temples to Public in Reasi
Katra, July 13: In a landmark initiative aimed at fostering spirituality and preserving cultural heritage, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, during its 75th Meeting held under the chairmanship of Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, JK-UT approved the dedication of five newly constructed temples to the public in the month of July along with the construction of five additional temples in District Reasi.
As part of this initiative, the Shrine Board has formally dedicated the five temples today at each location in distinct villages across the district, namely Gorta Kalika Sathaan, Village-Harotkote; Pancheri Galli, Village-Dangakote; Tote Devsthan, Village-Tote; Village-Devigarh of Tehsil Bhomag and Village-Chasana.
Prior to the installation of the Holy Idols at the newly constructed temples, the Shrine Board organized a spiritually enriching three-day Hawan and Puja ceremony at the Spiritual Growth Centre (SGC), Katra. These rituals were conducted with deep reverence by the Shrine Pujaris under the guidance of Padma Shri Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri for invoking divine blessings and sanctifying the proceedings in alignment with age-old Vedic traditions.
Following these preparatory rites, the sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremonies-rituals and Kanya Poojan were performed at the respective temple locations. Each ceremony marked the formal consecration of the temple and its deity, carried out by learned Pujaris of the Shrine Board in the presence of local community members and Shrine Board officials.
During the dedication ceremony of the newly constructed temples, Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board stated that the Board has decided to entrust the management of these temples to the local communities after the sacred Pran Pratishtha rituals. He underscored that by handing over the responsibility for daily worship and routine maintenance to local residents, the Board aims to strengthen grassroots spiritual engagement in preserving cultural heritage while ensuring that the temples are maintained in a manner that reflects the community’s devotional spirit and traditions. CEO also exhorted that the Shrine Board shall be installing CCTV cameras at each of the newly constructed temples as a vital measure to ensure the sanctity of the premises and support the effective management of temple activities.
Notably, as part of the sacred Pran Pratishtha rituals, the Shrine Board upheld the tradition of offering communal blessings by distributing Halwa and Channa Prasad to all those present on the occasion at the respective locations.
