रक्षाबंधन का पर्व 09 अगस्त शनिवार को मनाया जाएगा: महंत रोहित शास्त्री ज्योतिषाचार्य

श्रावण रात्रि पूर्णिमा व्रत 08 अगस्त को तथा श्रावण दिवा पूर्णिमा व्रत 09 अगस्त को संपन्न होगा।

जम्मू, 07 अगस्त – श्री कैलख ज्योतिष एवं वैदिक संस्थान ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष एवं स्टेट अवॉर्डी महंत रोहित शास्त्री ज्योतिषाचार्य ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि रक्षाबंधन का पावन पर्व इस वर्ष 09 अगस्त, शनिवार को मनाया जाएगा।
महंत शास्त्री के अनुसार, श्रावण पूर्णिमा तिथि 08 अगस्त, शुक्रवार को दोपहर 02:13 बजे प्रारंभ होकर 09 अगस्त, शुक्रवार को दोपहर 01:25 बजे समाप्त होगी। चूंकि 09 अगस्त को सूर्योदय व्यापिनी पूर्णिमा है, अतः रक्षाबंधन का पर्व इसी दिन मनाया जाएगा।
राहुकाल सुबह 09:06 से 10:46 बजे तक रहेगा। अतः इस अवधि को छोड़कर पूरा दिन राखी बांधने के लिए शुभ रहेगा।

रक्षाबंधन का धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व

महंत रोहित शास्त्री ने बताया कि सनातन धर्म में रक्षाबंधन का विशेष महत्व है। यह पर्व भाई-बहन के पवित्र प्रेम, स्नेह और सुरक्षा के अटूट बंधन का प्रतीक है, जिससे पारिवारिक और सामाजिक संबंधों में प्रगाढ़ता आती है। उन्होंने यह भी अपील की कि इस वर्ष 'मेड इन इंडिया' राखियों का ही उपयोग करें और चीनी वस्तुओं का बहिष्कार करें।

🕉 पूजन विधि (राखी बांधने की पारंपरिक विधि)

1. बहन सर्वप्रथम भाई को तिलक लगाए, आरती करे और अक्षत अर्पित करे।

2. तत्पश्चात दाहिनी कलाई पर राखी बांधे और भाई का पूजन करें।

3. भाई को मिठाई खिलाएं, फिर भाई बहन के चरण स्पर्श कर आशीर्वाद ले।

4. भाई बहन को उपहार भेंट करें।

5. यह संपूर्ण प्रक्रिया उपवास रखकर संपन्न करना श्रेष्ठ माना गया है।

यदि भाई-बहन एक स्थान पर उपस्थित न हो सकें तो बहन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की प्रतिमा को राखी बांधकर पूजा करें और भाई की मंगलकामना करें। भाई भी राखी को भगवान से स्पर्श कर रक्षा का संकल्प लें। इस प्रकार श्रद्धा से किया गया प्रतीकात्मक राखी बंधन भी उतना ही फलदायी होगा।

राशि के अनुसार राखी व मिष्ठान्न चयन

मेष : लाल रंग की राखी मालपुए

वृषभ : सफेद रेशमी डोरी दूध से बनी मिठाई

मिथुन :हरी रंग की राखी बेसन की मिठाई

कर्क :पीली रेशम वाली राखी रबड़ी

सिंह :गुलाबी/गोल्डन/पंचरंगी राखी रसयुक्त मिठाई

कन्या : गणेशजी की प्रतीक हरी राखी मोतीचूर लड्डू

तुला :सफेद/हल्के पीले रंग की राखी हलवा या घर की मिठाई

वृश्चिक :गुलाबी रंग की राखी गुड़ की मिठाई

धनु : पीली-सफेद राखी रसगुल्ले

मकर : नीले/मिश्रित रंग की राखी कोई भी मिठाई

कुंभ : नीली रंग की राखी ग्रीन मिठाई

मीन : पीले-नीले ज़री वाली राखी मिल्क केक

यदि सगी बहन न हो तो...

अगर सगी बहन न हो तो मामा, चाचा, मित्र, पुरोहित आदि भी यजमान को राखी बांध सकते हैं। इस प्रकार सामाजिक रक्षा और शुभकामनाओं का आदान-प्रदान होता है।

📜 राखी बांधते समय बोले जाने वाला मंत्र

> ‘येन बद्धो बली राजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबलः।
तेन त्वामनुबध्नामि रक्षे मा चल मा चल।।’

अर्थ: जिस रक्षासूत्र से दानवेन्द्र राजा बलि को बांधा गया था, उसी से मैं तुम्हें बांधता हूँ। हे रक्षासूत्र, तू अपने संकल्प से विचलित न हो।

📚 रक्षाबंधन से जुड़ी पौराणिक कथाएं

1. देवराज इंद्र व शचि की कथा – शचि ने इंद्र की कलाई पर रक्षा सूत्र बांधकर उन्हें विजयश्री दिलाई।

2. कृष्ण-द्रौपदी कथा – द्रौपदी द्वारा साड़ी का टुकड़ा बांधने के उपरांत श्रीकृष्ण ने उसकी चीर रक्षा की।

3. महाभारत काल में सैन्य रक्षाबंधन – युधिष्ठिर ने सैनिकों संग रक्षा बंधन मनाया।

4. लक्ष्मी व राजा बलि कथा – लक्ष्मीजी ने बलि को राखी बांधकर भगवान विष्णु को प्राप्त किया।

Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme at Central University of Jammu
Jammu, 7 August, 2025: A week long (4th—8th August, 2025) Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP), organised under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, kicked off at Central University of Jammu on 4thAugust, 2025 with the Viksit Bharat Pledge administered by Registrar, Prof. Yashwant Singh and Tiranga Rally flagged off by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain in the presence of Director, Directorate of Physical Education, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Vandana Sharma and deans, heads, faculty, staff and students. The Vice Chancellor underscored the role of youth’s immense potential and advised them to embrace ‘Make in India’ and indigenous platforms to usher towards "Viksit Bharat 2047", but also acknowledged enormous challenges in the era of technological boom and addiction to social media. The Director underscored the relevance of VBYCP to foster a spirit of responsible citizenship, leadership and social awareness among the youth. She said that the university is organising a series of activities to capture the spirit of Viksit Bharat @2047 and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan commencing with a Pledge followed by Tiranga Rally; Cycle Rally – ‘Paddle for Viksit Bharat’; Yuva Samvaad; wall painting and slogan writing; and Nukkad Natak.
Dr. Sudhakar, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Bhawani, and Dr.Neerendra, Assistant Directors and Lt. Dr. Pankaj Mehta and Dr. Anju Thappa are the core committee members of the programme. As part of VBYCP, students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, CU Jammu participated in a wall painting and slogan writing activities. On August 6th, the Cycle Rally – ‘Paddle for Viksit Bharat’,was flagged off by Registrar and Director and her team, followed by Yuva Samvad on ‘Drug Addiction: An Overview’ were conducted.Through the rally, the Director efficaciously addressed the participants about the progressive stride towards Nasha Mukt Viksit Bharat. Following this event, the Yuva Samvad was held at the Auditorium. The eminent speaker of the event Dr. Manu Arora, MD, DPM, Prof. and HoD, Psychiatry, Govt. Medical College Jammu initiated his talk by emphasising that Jammu and Kashmir, and India as a whole has become one of the epicentres of drug consumption today than just a transit. He elaborately implicated the dire consequences of drug abuse and addiction to health, society, and particularly, the security of the country. The talk was received with critical queries and insights from the participants and attendees which the speaker gave quenching responses to. On 7th, Nukkad Natak, focused on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, led by Dr. Anju Thapa was performed in the university by the students of university.

Reasi, August 07: Reasi Police continues to strengthen public trust through its prompt response and citizen-centric initiatives. In one such case, Police recovered a missing mobile phone and handed it over to its rightful owner.

On 13.02.2025, Sanjay Kumar S/o Dharam Chand R/o Akhli, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi lodged a report at Police Post Banganga regarding his missing mobile phone. Taking immediate cognizance, a dedicated team of PP Banganga initiated a thorough investigation using both technical surveillance and human intelligence.

Owing to persistent efforts, the team successfully traced and recovered the missing mobile device. The recovered mobile phone was formally handed over to the complainant, Sanjay Kumar, today at PP Banganga.

The recovery of the lost property was widely appreciated by the complainant and locals alike, who lauded Reasi Police for their dedicated service and swift action. The initiative once again reflects Reasi Police’s commitment to safeguarding public interests and enhancing community policing.

Reasi, August 07: Continuing its strict enforcement of rules and regulations along the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) track, Reasi Police have booked one unauthorized Pithu operator for violating official guidelines issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Katra.

During routine patrolling today, a person coming from Sameer Point towards Banganga along with a Pithu was stopped by the patrolling team for questioning. Upon inquiry, the individual identified himself as Balbir Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Jhandi Pannasa, Tehsil Thakrakote, District Reasi.

When asked to produce a valid service card authorizing him to work as a Pithu operator, he admitted that he did not possess any such registration and was operating on the track without authorization, assuming he would not be questioned.

Operating as a Pony/Pithu operator without a valid service card constitutes a clear violation of the notification issued by the SDM Katra.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 225/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation is underway.

Reasi Police urges all service providers operating along the SMVD track to strictly adhere to the rules and maintain valid authorization to avoid legal consequences.

DC Reasi Felicitates Weavers and Artisans on National Handloom Day

Reasi, August 7: The District Administration Reasi, in collaboration with the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom Jammu, celebrated National Handloom Day today at the DC Office Complex, Reasi, with the aim of promoting the rich heritage of the handloom sector and honoring the contributions of local artisans.

The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik (IAS), who felicitated skilled weavers and artisans from across the district for their outstanding work in the field of handloom and handicrafts.
Deputy Commissioner awarded Certificates of appreciation and training Diploma to the artisans in recognition of their craftsmanship, dedication, and achievements.

A series of engaging activities marked the occasion, including the screening of a short video on the significance of National Handloom Day, distribution of certificates to recently trained weavers and artisans, and poem recitations by local craftsmen. In a special interaction, several weavers shared their success stories and experiences with the Deputy Commissioner, reflecting the positive impact of recent training initiatives. A handloom pledge was also taken by all participants, reaffirming their commitment to supporting and preserving traditional weaving and craft practices in the district.

In her address, DC Reasi Nidhi Malik emphasized the importance of preserving traditional arts and crafts, describing them as vital components of India’s cultural identity and significant contributors to rural employment and economic development. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to the “Vocal for Local” initiative and assured continued support to artisans through various government schemes and training programs.

The event also featured a hands-on craft workshop, inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, where students were introduced to various crafts and received firsthand training. On the occasion, the DC encouraged students to actively participate in the workshop, learn the skills sincerely, and continue exploring traditional crafts alongside their academic pursuits, emphasizing the value of skill development in building a self-reliant future.

A small exhibition showcasing the work of local artisans was also organized, drawing appreciation from the attendees and encouraging greater interest in traditional handloom practices. MLA and DC Reasi flagged off Annual Kousar Nag Yatra from Reasi

Reasi, August 07: Amid an atmosphere of deep religious fervour and spiritual enthusiasm, the annual Kousar Nag Yatra was ceremoniously flagged off today from Thappa Chowk, Reasi. The sacred pilgrimage was jointly inaugurated by MLA Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey and Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik, IAS, in the presence of senior officials and a large gathering of devotees.

The yatra, which holds immense religious significance, will culminate at the holy Kousar Nag Lake nestled in the majestic Pir Panjal range. Pilgrims, filled with devotion and energy, assembled early in the morning to commence their spiritual journey amid traditional chants and ceremonial rituals.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik extended her heartfelt wishes to the yatris and assured them of the administration’s full support for a safe, smooth, and spiritually enriching pilgrimage. She highlighted that comprehensive arrangements have been put in place in coordination with various departments to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.These include provisions for track repair,security, healthcare, sanitation, electricity, drinking water, toilet facilities and transportation.

DC Nidhi Malik emphasized the seamless coordination among the District Administration, Army, Police, SDRF, Health Department, PWD, and dedicated local volunteers to facilitate the smooth conduct of the yatra.Prominent among those present at the flag-off ceremony were SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, CPO Narinder Kumar, Addl. SP Ifthikar Ahmed, Tehsildar Reasi Suresh Singh, and other senior officers and respected members of the community.

The event not only marked the beginning of a sacred journey but also reflected the unity, devotion, and cultural heritage of the region.

In a commendable effort, a team of Police Station Satwari led by SHO PS Satwari under the close supervision of SDPO South and overall direction of SP South, Jammu, has apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest for several years.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mohd Hanief S/o Mohd. Shafi R/o Babliana, near MBS College, who was wanted in connection with FIR No. 110/2013 U/S 341/323/34 RPC registered at Police Station Satwari. He had been absconding since the year 2020 and was evading the due process of law.
The arrest was made by a dedicated police team led by SHO Police Station Satwari, following sustained efforts and human intelligence inputs.
Jammu Police reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that absconders and offenders are brought to justice, no matter how long they attempt to remain at large. Efforts are continuing to trace and apprehend all such individuals to uphold the rule of law and ensure public trust in the justice system.

THANA DIWAS MEETING HELD AT POLICE POST GRP CHANN ARRORIAN

Today, on August 6, 2025, a Thana Diwas Meeting was held at Police Post GRP Chann Arrorian under the supervision of SDPO Railways Vijaypur and the overall supervision of Worthy SSP Railways Jammu. The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 30 prominent citizens, including Ex-Sarpanchs, Ex-Panches, social workers, and public representatives from villages including Kandyari, Chann Arrorian, Hamirpur, Kishanpur, Chandwan, Sehswan, and surrounding areas.

During the meeting, discussions were held on a wide range of vital issues concerning the public and railways, including:

Cyber crimes

Drug peddling and illicit liquor trade

Awareness on the new criminal laws

Use of artificial intelligence in policing

Crimes against women and children

Mental health awareness and su***de prevention

Several respected participants – Shri Daljit Singh, Umesh Sharma, Pardip Kumar, Varinder Sharma, Davinder Paul, Vijay Singh, and Balbir Chand – raised key demands, including:

Stoppage of additional trains such as Ahmedabad Express, Jammu Mail, and Hemkunt Express at Chann Arrorian Railway Station, in addition to the existing DMU service.

Construction of a new underpass near Kandayari Railway Fatak for smoother vehicular movement.

Construction of a foot overbridge at Chann Arrorian railway platform to facilitate safe crossing for passengers and visitors.

Opposition to unloading/loading of cement and coal racks in the proposed Chann Arrorian railway yard due to potential environmental and logistical concerns.

In view of the present security scenario, ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, and the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, locals were sensitized and briefed to remain vigilant. They were urged to immediately inform the GRP authorities in case they notice any suspicious persons, bags, or objects near the railway track or station.

The main objective of this Thana Diwas meeting was to strengthen police-public relations and provide a platform to address the grievances of the local population.

The meeting commenced at 11:30 AM and concluded peacefully at 1:00 PM. SDPO Railways Vijaypur,
SHO GRP Kathua, ICPP GRP Chann Arrorian, and GRP staff were present during the proceedings.
