Kharagpur, 07 November 2025:
As part of the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’,Kharagpur Division organized a grand mass singing programme today at multiple prominent locations across the division.
A large number of Railway Officers, employees, students and members of the public enthusiastically participated in the mass singing event held at SERSA Stadium, Kharagpur, DRM Office conference room, Baleshwar Railway Station, Howrah New Complex, and at South Eastern Railway Mixed Higher Secondary English Medium School, Santragachi.
The event aimed at remembering and spreading awareness about the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’, which played a vital role in inspiring the freedom movement and uniting the nation emotionally and culturally.
To further amplify the reach of this message, the National Song is being played simultaneously through Public Address systems and displayed on digital screens at all railway stations across Kharagpur Division. Passengers, staff and visitors joined in the singing, creating a spirited patriotic atmosphere throughout the railway premises.
Speaking on the occasion at SERSA STADIUM, DRM Kharagpur, Shri Lalit Mohan Pandey highlighted that the collective singing of the National Song promotes unity, respect for the nation, and awareness of India’s rich freedom movement heritage. The participation of students from SER Mixed Higher Secondary English Medium School, Santragachi added vibrant youthful energy to the celebration.
Kharagpur division reaffirmed its commitment to fostering national pride and cultural values through such meaningful initiatives.
