Carter is getting worse. The swelling in his little body grows each day, and even his doctor—usually calm and reassuring—admitted she is “clinically worried.” Hearing those words was like a knife through my chest.

We chose the transplant because it promised protection, a future free from cancer. His scans were clear, but we wanted to make sure it never returned. Now I watch him fight complications instead of running outside, laughing, or just being a kid.

Still, behind the swelling and the tubes, Carter’s spirit flickers—small jokes, a squeeze of the hand, a reminder that he’s still our boy. Nights are the hardest, filled with fear and silent prayers that he’ll wake up to see another morning.

Our love for him is endless, but love alone isn’t enough. We need hope, we need faith, and we need prayers. Please keep Carter in your thoughts, and join us in believing for healing, strength, and brighter days ahead.
