Raaj Kumar was a legendary Indian actor known for his intense screen presence, unique dialogue delivery, and powerful performances in Hindi cinema. Born as Kulbhushan Pandit on 8 October 1926 in Loralai, Balochistan (then British India), he initially worked as a sub-inspector in the Mumbai Police before entering films. He made his acting debut in the early 1950s and rose to fame with films like Mother India (1957), Paigham (1959), Dil Ek Mandir (1963), and Waqt (1965). Raaj Kumar became widely admired for his baritone voice and iconic one-liners, earning him a place among Bollywood’s most memorable actors. His career spanned over four decades with classics such as Pakeezah (1972), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), and Saudagar (1991). Known for his regal persona and distinctive style, Raaj Kumar remained a towering figure in Indian cinema until his passing on 3 July 1996.
