DISTRICT POLICE KISHTWAR LAUNCHES SIM VENDOR INSPECTION DRIVE, RECORDS TAKEN FOR VERIFICATION AND ANALYSIS

District Police Kishtwar, under the directions of *SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh - JKPS,* conducted an extensive inspection drive across SIM card vendor outlets in Kishtwar district to enhance security and curb unauthorized SIM distribution. All GOs and SHOs of their respective jurisdictions carried out inspections of SIM vendor outlets as part of this coordinated district-wide exercise.

During the drive, vendors were directed to maintain complete records of all issued SIM cards, strictly follow KYC (Know Your Customer) guidelines, and refrain from selling fake or pre-activated SIM cards. The inspections also emphasized the importance of keeping detailed records related to recharges, duplicate SIM issuance, and logs for lost or damaged SIM cards, along with the corresponding customer details.

*SSP Kishtwar,* reiterated the importance of transparency and integrity in the SIM issuance process to prevent potential misuse. He also advised mobile phone sellers and repair technicians to maintain accurate transaction records, including customer identification details, to ensure accountability and public safety.

District Police Kishtwar will continue to monitor vendor activities and conduct similar inspections in the future to strengthen compliance and reinforce telecom-related security measures across the district.

DC Kishtwar Reviews Heritage Restoration Projects under J&K Architecture & Heritage Scheme.

The District Development Commissioner (DC), Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) chaired a meeting today to review and discuss key heritage conservation and restoration projects proposed under the Scheme of Revival, Restoration, Preservation and Maintenance of Architecture & Heritage of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting, the officers deliberated on multiple heritage and religious infrastructure projects including the Preservation of Sai Draman Heritage Site at Bhaguna Panchayat Block Nagseni, Preservation of Bhatan Dimiji Buddhist Site at Nagseni Doda, Renovation and Restoration of Devigol Jwala Mata Temple along with the Holy Spring at Bunjwah, Revival and Restoration of Raghunathji Temple at Kishtwar, and Construction of a Dramshalla at Haloti (Machail) in the Padder region.

The aim of these projects is to preserve the historical, spiritual, and cultural identity of Kishtwar while promoting heritage-based tourism.

The DC directed the PWD (R&B) Department to undertake the construction of buildings, boundary fencing, and footpath tiling strictly in accordance with the notified architectural guidelines.

He directed that all development works must align with the traditional archaeological patterns and historical aesthetics of the respective heritage sites, ensuring structural resemblance and authenticity are preserved while executing the works in a planned manner.

The DDC directed the concerned engineering wings of PWD (R&B) Divisions Kishtwar and Padder to ensure timely and detailed ex*****on plans with a special focus on maintaining aesthetic harmony, structural sustainability, environmental sensitivity, sanctity, and the cultural essence of the identified heritage assets.

Emphasizing the significance of conserving heritage infrastructure, the DDC stated that the preservation of these important cultural landmarks will contribute to the socio-cultural development of the region while enhancing its religious tourism potential.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar Sh. Pawan Kotwal(JKAS), CPO Kishtwar Akhil Thakur, CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ExEn PWD (R&B) Kishtwar Ravinder Verma, AEE PWD (R&B) Padder, and other concerned officers.

KISHTWAR POLICE TIGHTENS NOOSE ON DRUG PEDDLERS – THREE ARRESTED, HE**IN, CHARAS & PSYCHOTROPIC CAPSULES RECOVERED

Continuing its relentless drive against the menace of drug trafficking, Kishtwar Police has intensified its operations under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign. In a series of swift and well-coordinated actions carried out over the past three days, police teams apprehended three drug peddlers in separate locations, leading to the recovery of he**in, charas, and psychotropic capsules from their possession. During the operations, a total of 7.5 grams of he**in, 70 grams of charas, 32 capsules of Pyeevon Spas Plus, and ₹7,500 in cash were seized.

Providing the details, *SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS* stated that the district police are maintaining a rigorous crackdown against drug smugglers and peddlers operating within the district. Special teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend offenders to ensure that no individual involved in this illicit trade goes unchecked.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS and SHO Police Station Kishtwar Insp. Firdous Ahmed along with other officers. The details of the cases are as follows:
1. Case FIR No. 225/2025 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act, dated 03/11/2025
Accused – Anzar Beigh S/o Ghulam Qadir Beigh R/o Kamalpura Chehrar, Kishtwar
Recovery – 7.5 grams of he**in, 32 capsules of Pyeevon Spas Plus, and cash ₹7,500/=
2. Case FIR No. 226/2025 under section 8/20 NDPS Act, dated 04/11/2025
Accused – Amir Khan Sheikh S/o Shah Mohd Sheikh R/o Dhossa Bhallesa
Recovery – 33 grams of charas
3. Case FIR No. 227/2025 under section 8/20 NDPS Act, dated 05/11/2025
Accused – Pinku Kumar S/o Girdhari Lal R/o Chandali Sarthal, Kishtwar
Recovery – 35 grams of charas
All the above cases have been registered at the respective police stations, and further investigation is underway to unearth the backward and forward linkages of these drug networks.

*SSP Kishtwar* reiterated that Kishtwar Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and is fully committed to uprooting the illegal drug trade from the district. The public is once again urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug trafficking, enabling stronger action against those involved in promoting this social menace.

Baramulla Police today held a vibrant ceremony at District Police Lines (DPL) Baramulla to mark 150 years of the iconic patriotic song “Vande Mataram.” The event also inaugurated a week-long series of patriotic programmes to be held across the district from November 7 to 14.

The celebration began with spirited performances by the Police Pipe Band, joined by officers and personnel from Baramulla Police and CRPF 53 Battalion. Their patriotic renditions echoed a strong sense of unity and national pride.

Throughout the week, similar events featuring band performances, patriotic songs, and community participation will be organized in sub-divisions including Tangmarg, Pattan, Kreeri, and Uri.

Officers emphasized the timeless message of “Vande Mataram”—a tribute to the nation’s unity, courage, and cultural heritage. Baramulla Police reaffirmed its dedication to fostering patriotism, harmony, and strong police-public relations through such initiatives.

Kishtwar Marks 150 Years of “Vande Mataram” with Patriotic Grandeur;District Administration Hosts Enthusiastic Commemoration Event

Kishtwar, November 07:

In a vibrant celebration of national pride and cultural heritage, the District Administration Kishtwar today organized a grand event to commemorate 150 years of India’s iconic national song, “Vande Mataram”, a symbol of the country’s unity, courage, and freedom struggle.

The programme, held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex Kishtwar, witnessed enthusiastic participation from district officers, staff, teachers, students, and members of the public.

As part of a nationwide observance, the event was live-streamed along with the address of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who highlighted the historic significance and emotional force of “Vande Mataram” in strengthening India’s resolve during the freedom movement.

The celebration commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), followed by a collective and soulful recital of Vande Mataram that infused the gathering with deep patriotic fervor.

Adding artistic splendor to the event, renowned dance artist Ms. Tavishi Anand presented a cultural performance inspired by the theme of national pride, receiving wide appreciation from the audience.

A short documentary showcasing the legacy and timeless relevance of “Vande Mataram” was screened, reminding everyone of the sacrifices and struggles that shaped India's independence.

One of the major highlights of the commemoration was an Art and Craft Exhibition organised by the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kishtwar, featuring a wide range of traditional products that reflected the rich cultural identity of the region.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner and participating officers joined the nationwide initiative of Vande Mataram Selfie Participation, reaffirming collective commitment to national pride and unity.
