Yasir Reshi Urges Mehbooba M***i to Seek GoI Clarification Over Alleged Intimidation Plot

Raises Serious Allegations, Seeks Probe into Alleged Misuse of Central Agencies

Srinagar, July 30th : Former MLC and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Yasir Reshi has urged party president Mehbooba M***i to take up with the Government of India what he termed as serious allegations concerning an alleged attempt to intimidate and harass him for speaking out against certain political figures.

In a post on X, Reshi referred to claims made by JKPC spokesperson Ishfaq Gilkar, who allegedly stated that meetings involving central agencies, including the NIA, IB and CBI, were recently held at the residence of Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone in the presence of Sheikh Imran to allegedly chalk out a plan to pressure and threaten him.

Reshi said that if the allegations are true, they raise serious questions about whether central agencies are functioning independently or are being influenced for political purposes. He asserted that such claims, if left unaddressed, could erode public confidence in democratic institutions and create fear among political workers.

Appealing to Mehbooba M***i in her capacity as PDP president, Reshi urged her to raise the matter with the Government of India and seek an official clarification.

He also called upon the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to verify the allegations and ensure that no government agency is misused to settle political scores.

Maintaining that every political worker has the right to express his views without fear of intimidation or harassment, Reshi sought an impartial inquiry into the allegations.

There was no immediate response from the individuals named in the allegations or from the agencies mentioned in the post. (CNS).

Iltija M***i Questions CM Omar Abdullah's Silence Over Detention of Over 2,000 Men After Anantnag Killing

Srinagar, July 29th: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader on Wednesday questioned Chief Minister over what she described as his "radio silence" on the alleged detention of more than 2,000 men during a security crackdown following the Anantnag killing.

In a post on X, Iltija M***i said she was glad that PDP president 's "misrepresented statement" had been corrected along with what she termed a humble apology.

However, she accused the Chief Minister of remaining silent on what she called the "arbitrary illegal detention" of over 2,000 men in the aftermath of the Anantnag incident.

She further alleged that the government was using the "PDP card" to divert attention from its own failures in ensuring security and dignity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"When will these boys return to their homes? We deserve answers, not digression," Iltija M***i said in her X post.(CNS)
