DC Kishtwar Finalizes Sewa Parv 2025 Preparations

Kishtwar, 16-09-2025::To ensure the effective ex*****on of Sewa Parv activities, scheduled to be observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), chaired a meeting with concerned district officers and heads of institutions to discuss the arrangements for the fortnight-long campaign.

The meeting focused on ensuring active public participation, inter-departmental convergence, and comprehensive community outreach, aligning with the spirit of Sewa Parv — a nationwide celebration of selfless service and inclusive development.

As part of the launch of Sewa Parv 2025, a Mega Swachhta Drive is scheduled to be held on 17th September 2025 at 9:00 AM at the historic Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar.

The drive will see active participation from officers and staff of all line departments, aiming to promote cleanliness and community involvement. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), has urged all citizens to join the initiative and contribute towards maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of the Historic Chowgan Ground.

During the meeting, officers briefed the DC on planned and ongoing initiatives, including cleanliness drives, community meals for the needy, health check-ups, blood donation camps, and nutrition awareness campaigns under health initiatives.

They also discussed awareness programs on key government schemes such as PM-KISAN, Ayushman Bharat, and other flagship initiatives through capacity-building workshops. A variety of cultural and educational activities — including essay competitions, wall paintings, art and slogan contests, and donation drives for underprivileged students — were also proposed as part of the upcoming celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Kishtwar emphasized that Sewa Parv is not just a series of activities but a collective spirit of service, underscoring the government’s commitment to citizen welfare and inclusive governance.

He directed key departments — including Jal Shakti ICDS,Forest, Education, Technical Education,Higher Education,Rural Development, Health, Municipality,ITI, Information, and Social Welfare — to develop targeted activities under various schemes to ensure outreach at the grassroots level.

The Directed Action Plan for Sewa Parv 2025 includes cleanliness drives across towns and villages, tree plantation campaigns, health and wellness camps, blood donation drives, IEC (Information, Education & Communication) initiatives, workshops for vulnerable groups, disaster preparedness activities, beautification and sustainable development campaigns, and widespread awareness drives on government schemes.

All activities will be monitored in real time, with visual documentation and social media amplification to ensure transparency, visibility, and mass engagement.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar Sh. *3rd National Lok Adalat Held in Kishtwar: 195 Cases Settled, ₹1.26 Crore Awarded*

In compliance with the directions of the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar organized the 3rd National Lok Adalat today across the district. The Lok Adalat was held to facilitate the amicable settlement of disputes, promote access to justice, and reduce the pendency of cases through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

A total of 03 benches were constituted for the smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat, which took up a wide range of cases including Criminal Compoundable cases, Matrimonial disputes, Maintenance matters, Civil suits, Recovery cases, Labour disputes, MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, Pre-Litigation matters, and other civil and criminal cases.

Three benches were constituted for the smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat. The first bench comprised Mr. Munish Kumar Manhas, Chief Judicial Magistrate (Sub-Judge), Kishtwar, and Mr. Naveed Khurshid, Chief LADC, Kishtwar. The second bench consisted of Mr. Slahuddin Ahmed, Secretary, DLSA Kishtwar, and Ms. Farhat Nabi, Assistant LADC, Kishtwar. The third bench included Mr. Karan Bijyal, Munsiff/JMIC, Kishtwar, and Ms. Deepika Sharma, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Kishtwar.

During the Lok Adalat, a total of 259 cases were taken up for hearing, out of which 195 cases were successfully settled through mutual consent of the parties.

Significantly, a total settlement amount of ₹1,26,06,563 was awarded to claimants in MACT cases, Recovery Suits, and other financial disputes, marking a substantial relief to the beneficiaries and contributing to the speedy resolution of long-pending matters.

The District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar expressed gratitude to all the judicial officers, legal aid counsels, staff members, and litigants who participated and contributed to the success of the 3rd National Lok Adalat. The initiative reaffirms the commitment of the legal services institutions to provide affordable and expeditious justice to all sections of society.

The scenery and elevators turned under the feet of Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh to plant the flag by finishing the Ladakh Marathon in two hours & five minutes. He has turned out to be the emerging resilient and brave muscle version of the soul of Kashmir who participated in the event on 14th September 2025 for the second time.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Ladakh Marathon is a significant international event, recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh having been a finisher of Ladakh Marathon that too at an age of 46 has set an exemplary performance through elevators, thin air, challenging situations inch wise, muscle healthier regulation of soul. Indeed a moment to celebrate the brave Kashmir's performance where challenging diversities even could not stop Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh anyway to be a finisher of international Ladakh Marathon. .
