*Sewa Parv 2025 Day 03: District Kishtwar Hosts Disaster Management Drills, Health Camps & Awareness Rallies*

As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations,under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma(JKAS), a series of impactful activities and awareness programs were organized across District Kishtwar today, focusing on disaster management, health, fisheries, nutrition, community welfare and others.
The SDRF team conducted a Disaster Management Demonstration and Workshop on fire safety at GHSS Kishtwar. The session included live demonstrations on fire evacuation, handling extinguishers, and adopting preventive safety measures. Mock drills on earthquakes, fire, and other emergencies were also carried out to equip students with practical knowledge and preparedness.
The Health Department organized snakebite awareness drives across the district, where health staff educated people about timely medical assistance, avoiding harmful traditional practices, and preventive measures. Alongside, medical check-up camps were also held.
The Fisheries Department launched outreach programs for the fishing community, spreading awareness about government welfare schemes like PMMSY, HADP, KCC, and ATMA support services. The initiative encouraged fishermen to avail scheme benefits for socio-economic empowerment.
The Municipal Council Kishtwar conducted awareness among street vendors regarding registration under the PM SVANidhi Scheme to ensure their inclusion in livelihood benefits.
Meanwhile, a spirited anti-drug and anti-tobacco rally was organized at HS Sigdi Bhata under the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say No to Tobacco.”
The ICDS Department carried out multiple activities under Sewa Parv and Poshan Maah. These included sensitization sessions on reducing sugar, salt, and oil intake to combat obesity, father-led complementary feeding recipe competitions, and community pledges on nutrition.
Similar activities were held across Sub-Division, Tehsil, and Block levels by Health, RDD, ICDS, Forest, Education, Social Welfare, and Agriculture departments, ensuring widespread participation and awareness.
The day’s events highlighted the spirit of Sewa Parv 2025—uniting communities through awareness, preparedness, and collective responsibility for a healthier, safer, and more resilient society.
