Trans Nzoia Enforcement Officers Appeal to Governor Natembeya Over Unsafe Work Environment
Enforcement officers in Trans Nzoia County have raised concerns over a recent directive requiring them to relocate to an old colonial house previously occupied by the Director of Agriculture. According to the officers, the building is in poor condition, extremely small, and has even been declared unfit for human use by the Ministry of Health due to structural issues and health hazards linked to its roofing material.
The decision, allegedly influenced by Chief Governance Officer Mr. Sichangi, has caused frustration among the officers, who feel neglected and demoralized. They claim this advice has contributed to Governor George Natembeya developing a negative attitude toward their department.
The officers are now appealing directly to the Governor to intervene and allocate a safer, more dignified working space. They argue that the current structure undermines their welfare, poses serious health risks, and makes it difficult for them to serve the county effectively.
Their message is clear: protect those who enforce the law by ensuring they work in safe, humane, and respectable conditions.
