Chartered Accountant Authors New Guide on GST
GST trainer and Chartered Accountant Manimaran Kathiresan recently unveiled his latest book, GST - தணிக்கையும் வழிகாட்டியும் (GST – Audit and Guide), during a GST workshop held in T. Nagar, Chennai.
The book was officially released by V. Kathiravan, Deputy Commissioner (Review and Appeal), Tamil Nadu Commercial Tax Department, with the first copy received by CA Balasundaram.
Spanning 135 pages, the book provides a comprehensive breakdown of Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations across 19 chapters. This Tamil publication follows the successful launch of Manimaran’s previous English-language book, Mastering GST Litigation and Audit.
Manimaran, an empanelled GST trainer for both Central and State GST departments and a faculty member at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), is widely recognized for his dedication to professional education. He regularly conducts workshops on GST across South India for accounting aspirants and practitioners.
Beyond his writing and classroom teaching, he manages a popular YouTube channel, "GST India Daily," where he works to demystify complex tax laws and provide real-time clarity on GST-related queries for the public and the business community.

Sivakumar receives Kavinesan award
R. Sivakumar (resident of West Mambalam and Managing Director of Vishnu Associates) was received 'Kavinesan' title from Umarupulvar Vairusgal Ilakkiya Arakattalai during the 5th year of Kaviko Abdul Rahman Haiku Kavaithai potti program held on June 2 at Devaneya Pavalar Library Hall, Anna Salai.
The award was presented by H. Rumaisudheen Faizi (Founder of Umarupulvar Vairusgal Ilakkiya Arakattalai) in presence of A. Rajmohan (Minister of School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity) film directors N. Lingusami and A.R. Murgadoss.
Sivakumar has been conducted number of tamil oratorical programs mainly 'Haiku' tamil poem competitions and give prizes to winners for the 5 consecutive years. This year program, he gave prize money of Rs.1 lakh to 53 winners among 3350 participants.
Sivakumar is also senior member of Lions Club of Madras KRS where he does number of medical camps and many assistance to deserving persons.

Free tuition for school students
Kalpavriksha Free Tuition Center (West Mambalam) successfully concluded its 40-day morning and evening Summer Camp 2026, drawing wide participation from various city and CBSE schools.
In a unique model of student empowerment, the camp was planned and led by the students themselves, who acted as mentors, organizers, and designers.
The comprehensive curriculum included core academic sessions, grammar, and reasoning in the mornings, alongside high-tech evening modules covering Canva design, Robotics, and 3D printing.
Beyond the classroom, participants engaged in psychometric career assessments, competitive exam preparation (including CUET), public speaking forums, and external leadership camps like the Vivekananda Youth Forum.
The students also undertook educational and industrial visits to institutions like the US Embassy Robotics Camp, Agni and KCG Engineering Colleges, Freshworks Software Academy, and Brakes India, alongside heritage tours across Chennai.
Fostering social responsibility, the students prepared and distributed free buttermilk to the public daily throughout the camp.
The summer camp conclusion program held on June 1 in its premises.
The closing ceremony saw young participants confidently presenting event recaps to the audience. Managing Trustee R. Raghunathan, Director Padma Raghunathan, and Manager E. Selva Kumar noted that the center will now resume its regular free evening tuition sessions.
Kalpavriksha Free Tuition Center is conducting special classes for school students from 6pm to 8pm from Monday to Saturday and on Sunday there will be special talks by young talents.

Assistant Professor of Korean honoured for his contributions to education
Pulkit Sharma, Assistant Professor of Korean at SRM University, Kattankulathur, Former Assistant Professor at Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University, and Former Korean Translator with the CID, Government of Karnataka, was privileged to be invited by Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan Former Governor of Telangana and Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Plastic-Free Village Campaign, Digital Payment & Cyber Safety
Awareness and Water Conservation awareness program
Saveetha Hospitality Institute – Food & Tourism (SHIFT) organized an Unnat Bharat Abhiyan awareness program on May 28 at Kondenchery Village.
The program aimed to educate villagers about environmental sustainability, digital safety, and water conservation. Students actively conducted awareness activities to encourage responsible community practices and sustainable living.
As part of the Plastic-Free Village Campaign, students explained the harmful effects of plastic pollution and promoted the use of eco-friendly alternatives such as cloth and jute bags. The digital Payment and cyber safety awareness session included demonstrations on secure UPI transactions and online payment
methods. Villagers were also educated about cyber frauds, scam calls, fake links, and the importance of safeguarding passwords, OTPs, and bank account details.
The Water Conservation awareness session highlighted the significance of rainwater harvesting, responsible water usage, and preventing water wastage.
Posters, demonstrations, and interactive discussions helped participants understand practical methods of conserving water. A total of 5 villagers participated in the program, and the faculty coordinator appreciated the students for their active involvement. Overall, the activity was informative and beneficial, promoting environmental awareness, digital literacy, and sustainable
development in the village.
