*Kolkata Author Soumak Palit's Fourth Book to be Launched at Press Club*

*Kolkata, August:* Soumak Palit, a resident of Kolkata, is a writer, researcher and actor whose journey has spanned politics, economics and cinema.
His journey as an author began in 2017 with his first book *‘Management Dynamics of 21st Century’*, which highlights principles of management and economic management. The book was launched by former President of India Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee, former Prime Minister of India Late Dr. Manmohan Singh and former Finance Minister of West Bengal Dr. Asim Dasgupta.
His second book is based on the Congress party’s *‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’*. It documents memories from the 4,080 km long foot march led by Shri Rahul Gandhi. Palit himself was part of the Yatra and penned his experiences. At that time, he was working as a researcher in the National Social Media Department of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in New Delhi. The book was launched by Congress leaders Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Dr. Pradip Bhattacharya, Smt. Alka Lamba (President, All India Mahila Congress), Smt. Supriya Shrinate (Chairperson, Social Media, AICC) and Shri Krishna Allavaru (In-charge, Youth Congress).
His third book, *‘Golden Years of Modi Government’*, focuses on India’s journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat’. The foreword of the book has been written by Dr. Anirban Ganguly (Chairman, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation), Smt. Rupa Ganguly (MLA, Sonarpur Dakshin), Smt. Baishali Dalmiya (Convenor, Trade Cell East Zone) and Shri Shyam Jaju (Former National Vice President, BJP). The book was launched by Shri Dilip Ghosh, Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Smt. Papia Adhikari (MLA, Tollygunge) and Smt. Rupa Ganguly.
*‘The Great Sons and Daughters of India’* is his fourth book. It brings to light many unknown and rare facts about our freedom fighters with the help of the present generation members of their families. The book features 33 freedom fighters. The foreword has been written by Sir James Sutcliffe (grandson of former British Prime Minister Sir George Canning and great-nephew of former Governor-General of India Lord Canning) and Mimoza Ahmetaj (Former Minister and Ambassador, Government of Kosovo). The book is scheduled to be launched this month at the Press Club.
Palit was also invited to present a research paper on economics at an international conference organized at Harvard University. As a freelancer, he advised the Government of New Zealand on economic reform-related policies.
He is also an actor in Bengali cinema and a member of the ‘Artist Forum’. His film ‘Meter Down’ was released in 2022 and recently his film ‘Pora Bashi’ was released in theatres.
