বয়লিং ফ্রগ সিনড্রোম একটা জনপ্রিয় মেটাফোর। একটা ব্যাঙ কে যদি আপনি একটি জল ভর্তি পাত্রে রাখেন এবং জলকে উত্তপ্ত করতে থাকেন তবে ব্যাঙটি জলের তাপমাত্রার সাথে সাথে নিজের শরীরের তাপমাত্রা ভারসাম্যে রাখতে থাকে।

সে জলের উত্তাপ সহ্য করতে থাকে, লাফ দিয়ে বেরোনোর পরিবর্তে।

কিন্তু একসময় জলের প্রচন্ড তাপমাত্রা ব্যাঙের শরীর আর মানিয়ে নিতে পারে না।

যখন সে আর জলের প্রচন্ড তাপমাত্রা তার শরীরের তাপমাত্রার সমতায় আসতে পারে না, তখন ব্যাঙটি ফুটন্ত জলের পাত্র থেকে লাফ দেয়ার স্বিদ্ধান্ত নেয়।

কিন্তু হায়! সে লাফ দিতে পারে না তখন, কারন সে তার সমস্ত শক্তি তাপমাত্রা নিয়ন্ত্রনে ব্যায় করে ফেলেছে। অত:পর সে জলেতে সেদ্ধ হতে থাকে।

তার মৃত্যুর কারনটা আসলে গরম জল না, বিপদজনক পরিস্থিতির শুরুতে সেই পরিস্থিতি অস্বীকার করে লাফ না দেয়াটা তার মৃত্যুর কারন।

সব কিছু সহ্য করে নেবার মত বড় ভুল তার মৃত্যুর কারন। মানিয়ে নেবার, পাত্রের জল গরম কেন তার প্রতিবাদ না করে বরং তার সাথে সাথে নিজেকে মানিয়ে নেয়াই তার জীবন্ত সেদ্ধ হবার কারন। সঠিক স্বিদ্ধান্ত সঠিক সময়ে না নেয়াই তার মৃত্যুর কারন।

হটাৎ করে সেই সেদ্ধ হওয়া ব্যাঙের কথা মনে পড়লো। খুব সম্ভবত আমরাও ঐ ব্যাঙের মত মানিয়ে নিচ্ছি আমাদের চারপাশের সাথে। সহ্য করছি সব, আর ভাবছি টিকে আছি, টিকে থাকবো। আসলে আমরা সেই বয়লিং ফ্রগ সিনড্রোমে আক্রান্ত।
