Cyber P.S Kolkata, Case no.-49/25, Dt-09.09.2025, U/S- 66/66C/66D/84B/43 of IT Act, 2000 and Sec. 61(2)/319(2)/318(4)/336(2)/336(3)/338/340(2) BNS, 2023.

In connection with the investigation into the above referred case, today night (16.09.25) a raid was conducted at different places of Kolkata by the police personnel of Cyber Crime Branch, DD, under order of superiors. The matter is related to running fake and fraudulent call Centres situated different places of Kolkata, where VOIP calls were being made to call citizens of United State of America by falsely representing as employees of a giant financial technology company, like Paypal by providing false assurance of tech support/refund/crediting the charge to them and with the false promises the scammer cheated them.
During raid 10 nos. of accused persons were arrested from two flats of Ideal Height including the FIR named accused person namely Zawed Khan for having their direct complicity into the case. From their possession following items were seized:
1) 10 no. of mobile phones
2) 8 no. of Laptops (7 Mac book)
3) One questioned Airtel router (seized from old residence at Ekta Olinder at Entally)
4) Huge quantity of gold like ornaments
5) Rs. 10.15 Lakhs cash
6) Incriminating screenshots
7) Three exercise books which contains accounts of money and information regarding running of scam call centre.
8) One Skoda Slavia car having registration no. WB 06AB7345 and one Mahindra XUV 700 car having registration no. WB01BC4888 (both in the name of Zawed Khan).
9) 10 Nos. of high-end watch.
10) One deed of conveyance of Zawed Khan in respect of Aqua Golf Villa phase 1, Villa no.11 measuring 3.5 Kothas.


Arrested accused persons will be produced before the Ld. Court today.

Ref.- Kasba P.S/D.D, Case No.- 409, dated 07.09.2025, U/S 303 (2) BNS (Since Amended).

Brief fact of the case is that on 06.09.25 at about 06.30 hrs unknown accused persons interacted with the complainant and convinced her to part with a bundle of currency notes in exchange of her gold ornaments. On being convinced, the complainant deliver her gold ornaments, One pair gold ear ring and one pair iron made bangles fitted with gold, total weighing about 4 grams, to the accused persons but the accused persons handed over her a bundle of paper cuttings and fled away near Ruby crossing on Rajdanga Main Road, P.S- Kasba, Kolkata.

During investigation of the case acting upon credible source information, the accused persons namely-

Of Vill- Kalyapur, Mathpara, P.S- Baruipur, Dist.- 24 Pgs (S),

2. Lalu Haldar @ Goutam (48)
S/O- Lt. Kalioada Haldar,
Of Lakshikantapur, Daulatpur, P.S- Kulpi, Dist.- 24 Pgs (S),

3. Ali Hossain Molla @ Babu (48)
S/O- Lt. Abdul Goni Molla,
Of Vill- Ramakantapati, Dakshin Barasat, P.S- Joynagar, Dist.- 24 Pgs (S),

were arrested into this case on 11.09.25 for having their direct involvement into the case. They were closely interrogated and pursuant to their statements, the gold ornaments were recovered and seized from them entact being the subject matter of the case.

Tomorrow (16.09.2025) the accused persons will be produced before Ld. Court on remand

Ref.- Garfa P.S/D.D, Case No.- 92, dated 17.08.2025, U/S 318 (4) BNS.

Breif fact of the case is that on 03.08.2025 at about 10.30 hrs, when the complainant went to withdraw money from SBI ATM, Nazir Bagan, Garfa, at that time the accused persons exchanged the ATM Card of the complainant on liue of helping the complainant and later the accused persons withdrawn Rs. 1,23,000/- using the ATM Card of the complainant and thereby cheated the complainant.

During investigation of the case, analyzing the CCTV footage and source input, the accused person namely-

Of Rajdanga, Nabapally, P.S- Kasba, Kolkata- 78

was arrested by Watch Section, D.D on 10.09.25. He was closely interrogated and pursuant to his statement Cash Rs. 1,12,500/- was recovered and seized from him being the subject matter of the case.

Tomorrow (15.09.25) the accused person will be produced before Ld. Court on remand.

Today (09.09.25) at about 11:30hrs. one Souvik Chatterjee, S/o- Tinku Chatterjee of 36/1, Ram Narayan Mukherjee Road, PS- Sarsuna, Kol- 61 came to PS and informed that a female(minor girl) of his area is missing from 09am in the morning and local people had seen one of her slipper was floating in the nearby pond named as Padmapukur Pond.
The duty officer understanding the gravity of the situation rushed to the spot with available forces. On reaching the P.O i.e- Padmapukur Pond searched for the said minor victim girl and learnt that she was last seen washing her clothes in the Padmapukur Pond adjacent to her house where the slipper was floating. The DMG personnel was immediately called up the sensing that she might be drowned.
At about 11:50 am the locals discovered a body of a female minor child floating on the opposite bank of the pond. Immediately the said floating body was recovered and identified as Titli Biswas (10yrs), H/F, D/o- Suman Biswas of 1, Ram Narayan Mukherjee Road, PS- Sarsuna, Kol- 61 by her father namely Suman Biswas and her mother namely Shyamali Biswas and other local residents.
On examining the body it was found that froth was coming out from her mouth and she was showing no sign of life. Without wasting any more time she was quickly removed to Vidyasagar S G hospital where she was declared brought dead by the attending doctors.
Enquiry revealed that both the parents of the victim had left for their work and when they returned at about 09 am the victim girl was not found. The parents then searched her in the neighborhood along with the locals but in vain, it also revealed that she was supposed to look after her infant sister when her parents are at work.
Enquiry further revealed that she was last seen by one Urmila Sarkar, her neighbour washing clothes in the pond when her parents were not at home. It also transpired from the parents of the victim that the victim frequently goes to the pond to collect water, wash clothes and bath occasionally and she does not know swimming. It could be learnt that the family of the deceased has been residing at the aforesaid address for the last two and half years as tenant. Enquiry further revealed that the said deceased was a student of Sarsuna Girls Primary School of Class- IV and used to reside at Vill- Moirachak, PO- Srinarayanpur, PS- Dholahat, Pin- 743399, South 24 Pgs with her parents.
During enquiry no foul play could be detected so far. And no complaint had been received as yet.
The Inquest and P.M Examination over the dead body of deceased Titli Biswas (10yrs), H/F, was done and the PM doctor confirmed verbally that it is a simple case of drowning.

Arrest and Recovery of Cash Rs. 25 Lakhs by Watch Section, D.D.

On (04.09.2025) in the evening acting upon a credible source information a secret watch was maintained in the vicinity of Old China Bazar Street under Hare Street P.S area regarding transaction of huge amount of unaccounted Cash.

While maintaining watch one person namely-
Sanjib Majumdar (49), S/O- Lt. Anil Majumdar of 133, Debaipukur Road, P.S - Uttarpara, Dist.- Hooghly was detained from in front of Room No.- 11, Bikram Chand Market, 1st Floor at 14/2, Old China Bazar Street, Kolkata- 700001 on being pointed out by source who was carrying a bag in his hand. He was searched at the spot in presence of the witnesses and on search Cash Rs. 25,00,000/- (Rs. Twenty Five Lakhs) in the denomination of Rs. 500×5000 in G.C notes was recovered from him for which he could not have any satisfactory answer or valid documents in support of the said cash.

As such the said cash was seized in presence of the witnesses maintaining all legal formalities and the detained person was arrested at the spot for carrying such huge amount of money.

In this regard a case has been recorded at Hare Street P.S, vide Hare Street P.S, Part II, Case No.- 20/25, U/S 35 BNSS.

The arrested person will be produced before the Ld. Court on tomorrow (05.09.25).

Tangra PS Case No 126 dated 26.8.25 u/s 306 BNSS

The brief fact of the case is that in between 21.08.2025 and 26.08.2025, within 08:00 hrs the FIR named accused person being the caretaker of the complainant committed theft in respect of valuable ornaments details as (1) 03 Golden Necklace, (2) 02 Gold Bangles, (3) 02 Gold Earring, (4) 03 Gold Ring, (5) 01 Gold Chain, (6) 02 Gold Kids Bangles, (7) One with Router, (8) 03 Phone (one Redmi, two Nord Phone) valued approx 40 (Forty) lakhs or more from inside the complainant's house.

During investigation of the case initially the caretaker of the house namley Kartick Mal(60) S/o Lt. Kesto Mal of 54/3 D. C Dey Road was arrested but nothing could be materialised from him.
Further CCTV footages of the area was consulted and two suspects namely (1) Sunny Mondal (19) S/o Lt. Bhola Mondal of Rajarghat Notun para, Dhipi, PS-Pragati Maidan Kolkata-105 and (2) Ganesh Dey (32) S/o Maloy Dey of Rajarghat Notunpara, Dhipi, Kolkata-105 were fixed up. Their CDR were consulted and it was found that the theft was committed in the intervening night of 21.8.25 and 22.8.25 at about 2:30 Hrs and the accused were present at the PO at the time of theft. Also some of their associates were also found to be connected to them over phone. Following source information a raid was conducted at Tarapith, Birbhum and both of them were arrested on 02.9.2025 from a Lodge near Maa Kali temple. They were interrogated and it was found that another conspirator was the driver of complainant namely Sanjoy Mondal (42) S/o Lt Shripada Mondal of 2, Hatgachia , PS- Pragati Maidan Kolkata-105. He happened to be the informer. Accordingly, he was also arrested on 02.09.25 and was also examined. Based on the leading statement of the accused person some portion of stolen gold ornament’s were recovered and seized. Further examination of the accused persons are in progress to recover the rest of the stolen ornaments & mobile phones. Tomorrow (03.09.2025) they will be produced before the court of Ld. ACJM, Sealdah, 24-pgs(s).

Acting on a credible source information two persons namely (1) Ayush Kr Jha , (2) Piyush Gupta were intercepted at BabuGhat Bus Stand on 02.09.25 at about 00:40 hrs and from their posession one improvised country made fi****ms and two live cartridges were seized.
During interrogation it could be learnt that the accused person had come for the purpose of selling the arms and ammunitions.
Accordingly they were arrested at about 01:25 hrs and a case vide Maidan PS Case no. 57 dated 02.09.25 U/S 25(1)(a)/29 Arms Act was initiated against them.
Later it was also learnt that the two accused are involved in a recent shooting incident at Muchipara PS area.

Act, 2000 and Sec.- 61(2)/319(2)/318(4)/336(2)/338/336(3)/340(2) of B.N.S., 2023.

Brief fact and Finding:
On or before 01/05/2025, the accused conspired to cheat the complainant by creating fake emails, WhatsApp accounts, and forged documents using the names of ‘Abbott Pharmaceutical UK’ and ‘WHO’. They fraudulently induced him to invest ₹1,10,41,250 in a fake Kola nut trading scheme, causing wrongful loss.

The investigation revealed that large sums were siphoned through multiple bank accounts using linked mobile numbers, which were active in the Palam region of New Delhi during the fraud but were soon switched off.

IMEI tracing and Google responses provided IP logs that exposed the use of static internet connections and mobile networks for continued activities. Analysis of these IPs, along with CDRs and ISP data, confirmed ongoing operations from incriminated devices.

Cross-links with previously arrested individuals further strengthened the chain of evidence.

Based on the findings a team lead by Insp Soma Maity and Sgt S Gain raided the areas under Palam Ps New Delhi, upon tracing of probable accused when the team made the final charge along with due support from Delhi Police the accused persons tried to flee the team made a hot pursuit wherein one Constable was also injured but they finally nabbed the accused persons who were detained and subsequently arrested.
