🔥 India’s AK-203 “Sher” represents a major step toward Atmanirbhar Bharat. Produced at Korwa, Amethi, the rifle is being manufactured through Indo-Russian Rifles Pvt. Ltd., combining proven Kalashnikov design with increasing Indian localisation. The Indian government has contracted 6,01,427 AK-203 rifles for the armed forces.

Its significance goes beyond the battlefield: building critical small-arms capability inside India strengthens supply security, industrial capacity and defence manufacturing.

🚨 Nepal Flash Floods: Glacier Collapse Triggers Himalayan Disaster

🌊 A catastrophic flash flood has devastated northern Nepal after a glacial ice-rock collapse in Tibet triggered a massive debris-laden surge into the Lhende–Bhote Koshi river system. USGS analysis indicates the seismic signal initially mistaken for an earthquake was actually generated by the collapse and debris flow.

The disaster has killed at least 162 people, with hundreds still missing. Roads, bridges, homes and hydropower infrastructure across Rasuwa and downstream districts have suffered severe damage. Rescue operations remain difficult as debris blocks access and communication.

The event highlights growing Himalayan disaster risks linked to unstable glaciers, extreme terrain and rising temperatures. India is also monitoring downstream rivers as floodwaters move toward the Gandak basin.
