গত ২৫ শে জুলাই ২০২৫ এর অ্যাওয়ারনেস প্রোগ্রাম।
এই প্রোগ্রামটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার মিনাখা এরিয়ার আটপুকুর নামক একটি গ্রামে।
আবারো বলে রাখি সারা রাজ্য জুড়ে আমরা এসিড হামলার বিরুদ্ধে ও লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য মূলক যে নির্যাতন দিনের পর দিন হয়ে চলেছে তার বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের এই প্রতিবাদ ও লড়াই। মূলত এই ধরনের নির্যাতন কিভাবে রোধ করা যায়, এই ধরনের নির্যাতন হলে কি কি আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেয়া যায় ও এসব ঘটনার ক্ষেত্রে আপনার সরকারি কি কি অধিকার রয়েছে। এগুলোই মূলত আমাদের বার্তা দেয়া থাকে।
এইদিন ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিল সমাজকর্মী মনীষা পৈলান যিনি অফিসের কার্যকলাপ ও বর্তমান নারীর অবস্থান সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করলেন। ফাউন্ডেশনের অ্যাডভোকেট আকসা সাহার আলোচনা করলেন এই ধরনের নির্যাতন থেকে মুক্তি পেতে হলে আমাদের কি কি পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া জরুরী ও আইন কানুনের দিক দিয়ে নির্যাতিতা মানুষদের কি কি অধিকার থাকে। এছাড়াও সেদিন এসিড হামলার শিকার হওয়া সারভাইবার আমিনা খাতুন যিনি নিজেই এই মিনাখা এলাকার বাসিন্দা। তিনি স্বজোরে শোনালেন তার কাহিনী এবং বার্তা দিলেন এই হামলা আর নয়, এসিড হামলা বন্ধ হোক। খোলা বাজারে এসিড বিক্রি বন্ধ হোক। আরো একজন সার্ভাইভার শাম্মি আরা পারভীন তিনিও তার নিজের জীবনের কাহিনী শোনালেন যে প্রত্যেক মানুষের জীবনে এই ধরনের দুর্ঘটনা বা হামলা আসতে পারে তবে তা পার করে নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করার নামই জীবন। এছাড়া প্রোগ্রামের দিন সমাজকর্মী শাহাবুদ্দিন লস্কর তিনি নিজের মুখে শোনালেন যে সেই এলাকার চারপাশের কি অবস্থা।
রাজ্যে যেভাবে নির্যাতনের মাত্রা বেড়েছে বিশেষ করে এসিড হামলা সে ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের এই ধরনের সচেতনতা আরো বাড়ানোর প্রয়োজন রয়েছে। আমরা আরো একটি বার্তা বারবার দিয়ে থাকি যে খোলা বাজারে বেআইনি এসিড বিক্রি করা কোনমতেই চলবে না। আমরা কাছাকাছি এলাকায় এই ধরনের কার্যকলাপ দেখলে নিকটবর্তী থানায় অবশ্যই খবর দেব। এছাড়াও যাদের সঙ্গে এ ধরনের ঘটনা ঘটছে তারা যাতে মূল স্রোতে ফিরে তার জন্য সমাজে প্রত্যেকটা মানুষকে যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে।
এই প্রোগ্রামটি আমাদের করার জন্য সহযোগিতা করেছেন ওখানের বাসিন্দা সমাজ কর্মী শাহাবুদ্দিন লস্কর। যিনি তার নিজের গৃহে আমাদেরকে বিনা পয়সায় হল দিয়েছেন যাতে আমরা এই ধরনের প্রোগ্রাম করি।প্রোগ্রামে উপস্থিত গ্রামের মহিলারা খুবই মনোযোগ সহকারে এই প্রোগ্রামটি যোগদান করেন। ওখানে গিয়ে আমরা গ্রামের চারপাশের অবস্থা সম্পর্কে জানতে পারি। রাজ্যের কোনায় কোনায় নির্যাতন বিশেষ করে মেয়েদের উপরে নির্যাতন কোথাও কমতি নেই। ধর্ষণ থেকে শুরু করে পুড়িয়ে মেরে ফেলা বা নির্যাতনের মাত্রায় মেরে ফেলা সবই চলে। তাই এই ধরনের সচেতনতার প্রোগ্রাম এর প্রয়োজনীয়তা রয়েছে।
প্রোগ্রাম শেষে সমস্ত উপস্থিত মানুষজনদের কাছ থেকে আমরা ফিডব্যাক পেলাম ও কথোপকথন হল। শেষে প্রত্যেকটি পার্টিসিপেট এর জন্য লাঞ্চের ব্যবস্থা ও আমাদের ফেরা
খুব বেশি সময় আমরা দিতে পারিনি তবে গ্রামের মহিলাদের অনুরোধ ও তাদের বক্তব্য ছিল এই ধরনের অত্যাচার হলে আপনাদের সহযোগিতা একান্ত জরুরী ও আপনারা মাঝেমধ্যেই এই ধরনের সচেতনতা প্রোগ্রাম করুন। আমাদের এই সহযোগিতা ও তাদের সাহস ও মানসিকতা দেখে মনে হল যে সত্যিই মানুষ সহযোগিতা ও সাপোর্ট পেলে অনেক লড়াই লড়ে নিতে পারে।
শাহাবুদ্দিন লস্কর মহাশয় কে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ উপস্থিত গ্রাম বিন্দ ও অন্যান্যদের ধন্যবাদ ও ভালোবাসা।
Awareness Program on Acid Attacks and Gender-Based Violence

**Location:** Atpukur village, Minakhan area, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal
On 25th July 2025, we organized an awareness program in the village of Atpukur, located in the Minakhan area of North 24 Parganas. This initiative is part of our ongoing statewide campaign against acid attacks and various forms of gender-based violence that continue to occur every day.
The core objective of the program was to raise awareness about how to prevent such acts of violence, what legal steps can be taken if such incidents occur, and to inform individuals—especially women—about their legal rights and entitlements under government protection.
# # # Key Highlights of the Program:
Manisha Pailan, a dedicated social worker representing the foundation, spoke about the organization’s ongoing activities and the current status of women in society.
Advocate Aqsa Sahar, provided crucial information on the legal procedures victims can follow and emphasized the rights of survivors under the law. Her discussion focused on the importance of taking timely legal steps and understanding one's legal position when subjected to such violence.
The program featured firsthand testimonials from two acid attack survivors:
Amina Khatun, a resident of Minakhan, shared her personal story and delivered a powerful message demanding an end to acid attacks and the ban of open-market acid sales.
Shammi Ara Parveen, another survivor, inspired the audience by narrating her journey through adversity, stressing that while such incidents can occur in anyone’s life, true strength lies in overcoming them and establishing oneself with dignity.
* Social activist **Shahabuddin Laskar**, a resident of the area, provided an overview of the local conditions and the urgent need for such awareness programs, considering the rising number of cases in the region.
The increasing rates of violence, especially acid attacks, across the state make it evident that more such initiatives are required. A central message we emphasize is that **illegal sale of acid in open markets must be stopped immediately**. If such activities are observed, they must be reported to the nearest police station without delay. Moreover, the community must stand with the survivors to ensure their reintegration into mainstream society with dignity and support.
# # # Community Participation:
Special thanks go to **Shahabuddin Laskar**, who generously offered his personal premises free of cost to host the program. The local women of the village participated with deep interest and engagement. Through our interaction with them, we gained valuable insights into the ground realities of the area.
The prevalence of gender-based violence—including r**e, burn attacks, and brutal physical assaults—remains high across the state. Therefore, programs like this are not just necessary—they are urgent.
# # # Feedback & Future Initiatives:
After the program, we engaged in open conversation and collected feedback from the attendees. Lunch was arranged for all participants. Though we could not stay for long, the women of the village strongly urged us to conduct such awareness programs more frequently. Their enthusiasm, courage, and willingness to speak up reminded us that with the right support, people can fight back against even the most horrific forms of violence.
We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Shahabuddin Laskar, the residents of the village, and everyone who supported and participated in making this event impactful.
