Kristen Stewart reveals lesson directing debut taught her

Kristen Stewart says stepping behind the camera for the first time changed how she sees herself and the filmmaking world.

The Love Lies Bleeding actress, 35, who's making her directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, reflected on that milestone ahead of her keynote speech at the Academy and Chanel’s Women’s Luncheon on November 4 in Los Angeles.

I learned that there are emotions that can diminish the point in environments that are not conducive to listening to women,” Stewart told PEOPLE of the powerful lesson directing taught her.

“It’s okay to be emotional, and it’s fun to be angry when you can turn it into something productive and beautiful.”

She added that collaboration and trust are at the heart of her creative process. “You can’t make a movie alone, and when you find the right people to do it with, everything’s okay,” she said.

Stewart’s film adapts The Chronology of Water, Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir exploring grief, trauma, addiction, and sexuality through a woman’s perspective.

During her keynote address, Stewart spoke candidly about her frustration with the lack of progress for women in Hollywood since the height of the movement.

“In a post-Me Too moment, it seemed possible that stories made by and for women were finally getting their due,” she told the audience. “But the backsliding from that brief moment of progress is statistically devastating.”

She also called out the gender disparity in filmmaking as a “state of emergency,” thanking the room full of female filmmakers and actors, including Kate Hudson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Tessa Thompson, and Patty Jenkins.

“I am not grateful to a boys’ club business model that pretends to want to hang out with us while siphoning our resources and belittling our true perspectives.”

The annual luncheon celebrates women across the film industry and the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women, which supports emerging female filmmakers.

Robert Pattinson recalls intense conditions on Dune set

Robert Pattinson says filming Dune: Part Three in the desert was so scorching that it left him unable to think straight.

The Twilight star, 39, made the claim during an interview with published on November 3, recalling how the heat during production nearly shut down his brain.

When I was doing Dune, it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything,” he told IndieWire. “It was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating. I didn’t have a single functioning brain cell. I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve], like, ‘Whatever you want!’”

The film, directed by Villeneuve, will see Pattinson join new cast members Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke, who play the twin children of Paul (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya).

The Dune franchise has become infamous for its brutal filming conditions. Austin Butler, who played Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two, told Entertainment Weekly that it was “110 degrees and so hot” during his first week. “It became like a microwave,” he said, adding that people were “passing out from heat stroke.”

Zendaya also revealed to W Magazine that she experienced heat stroke on set after avoiding water breaks because her costume made bathroom trips a 10-minute ordeal

Michelle Obama on how she's preparing her daughters to live without her

Michelle Obama is opening up about lessons from her late mother and how they shape the way she’s guiding her own daughters.

The former first lady was discussing her new book The Look at People Inc.’s event in New York City on November 5 when she also reflected on the death of her mother, Marian Robinson, who passed away in 2024 at age 86.

Michelle, 61, revealed that her mother had been preparing her and her brother, Craig Robinson, for her death since childhood—a sentiment Michelle now understands as a parent herself.

“What she was really saying was, ‘I love you, but you’ll be okay without me,’” Michelle shared. “That’s what I tell my girls now. You don’t need me. You know everything you need to know to be successful.”

Michelle, who shares daughters Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24, with former President Barack Obama, also described her mother’s final reflections. As they watched TV together near the end of her life, Marian turned to her and said simply, “Wow, that was quick.”

“Life,” she added when Michelle asked what she meant.

“That moment stuck with me,” Michelle said. “Even after a full, beautiful life, you’re never really ready. It made me realise I want to be present. Right here, right now.”

Michelle added that turning 60 last January has pushed her to live more intentionally. “If I’m lucky, I’ll have 30 good summers left,” she said. “So I want to make this next chapter exactly how I want it to be.”

Jennifer Lawrence didn't want an intimacy coordinator on Die My Love because she felt "very safe" with Robert Pattinson.

The Oscar-winning actress stars alongside Robert in the new comedy-drama film, and Jennifer has revealed why she didn't feel the need for an intimacy coordinator on set.

The 35-year-old movie star said on the Las Culturistas podcast: "We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really … I felt really safe with Rob.”

"He is not pervy and very in love with [partner] Suki Waterhouse. We mostly were just talking about our kids and relationships, the Hunger Games star said.

"There was never any weird like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that I would probably have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f*** them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that,” she added of the Twilight talent.

Meanwhile, Jennifer previously admitted that she suffered self-doubts before giving birth to her first child.

The Silver Linings Playbook actress who is a mother to Cy, three, and a son called Louie, who was born earlier this year - told Vogue magazine: "It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody.”

"If I say, it was amazing from the start, some people will think, It wasn’t amazing for me at first, and feel bad. Fortunately, I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away. So, I felt so prepared to be forgiving,” Jennifer Lawrence concluded.

Jay-Z achieves major legal victory

A long-running paternity suit filed against Jay-Z has been officially dismissed in California.

The case was dismissed "with prejudice", which extinguishes all rights to pursue a claim in another suit, meaning the litigation came to an end with Wednesday's order from the court.

The Court has read and considered the motion and concluded that it is suitable for decision without oral argument," a judge for the United States District Court, Central District of California, decided.

A woman named Lillie Coley had told the court she is the godmother and legal guardian of a man named Rymir Satterthwaite, who is allegedly the son of Jay-Z.

Coley also claimed that Satterthwaite, who is in his early 30s now, was fathered by the music icon in the mid-1990s with a woman named Wanda Satterthwaite, who passed away in 2019.

Coley said her late friend had spent almost 20 years trying to have courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania establish Jay-Z's paternity of Satterthwaite.

Her boyfriend at the time, Robert Graves, was eliminated as a potential father via a 2010 paternity test.

Satterthwaite told the Daily Mail last December that he wanted Jay-Z, who is wed to fellow music superstar Beyoncé, to take a paternity test.

"I really want to resolve this," Satterthwaite said, adding, "I want to resolve this and get this matter done. I really do. I don't want any money. I just want the truth."

It is pertinent to mention that Jay-Z has consistently denied the accusations and his legal team referred to the lawsuit as a "decades-long campaign of harassment.

Hillary Duff weighs in on her feelings towards Lizzie McGuire revival cancelation

Hillary Duff has just answered one question fans have been dying to get answers to after Lizzie McGuire was rebooted.

The whole conversation happened while the 38-year-old was sitting on the Jake Shane‘s podcast Therapuss and featured one of the most asked takes, i.e. whether McGuire would end up with Adam Lamberg‘s character Gordo.

According to Duff herself, “I think that there was just disagreements on how far we could take [Lizzie] and where she is, as you know, she would have been when we were filming that 30 or 31.”

“And for me, I was that age and so I just also felt so deeply connected to her as a character because we were the same. And I was like, oh, man, we can’t Mary Tyler Moore her that’s not, I don’t know, it was 2023. You know what I mean?”

There’s social media and we weren’t I wasn’t trying to have her wake up and do b**g rips or anything, but she was a normal 30-year-old, you know? So, there was some things I think they just weren’t like, totally willing to go there.”

The last McGuire release prior to this was in 2003 when the series wrapped up her story via The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and featured her kissing Gordo.

However, the actor does not think they would have ended up together because “I don’t think they had a thing post. I think they had maybe an almost thing post. I know, again, another swing at it that didn’t. But I think that there was a thing with someone else that was just very quick.”

“In my mind, I like to think she had a thing with Ethan Craft finally,” the star concluded by saying.

For those unversed, Craft was Lizzie’s middle school crush played by Clayton Snyder.

Cardi B's beau Stefon Diggs exposed as the father of model's baby

Cardi B's NFL boyfriend Stefon Diggs has been confirmed as the father of Instagram model Aileen Lopera's baby.

The Fashion Nova ambassador launched a paternity suit against Diggs in December 2024 and Lopera's lawyer told Page Six: "The paternity has been confirmed. Mr. Diggs is the father of the child,"

Now that the child's paternity has been established and Mr. Diggs has acknowledged his daughter, my client hopes they can work toward being great parents to their child."

While the issue of Diggs' paternity has been resolved, Lopera's lawyer told the outlet that the case has not yet been dismissed and "will move forward if the parties are not able to resolve it themselves."

As Lopera welcomed her baby girl in April, at the time of filing she asked the court for legal and physical custody of the child and for Diggs to be given only visitation rights.

She also requested that the American football star pay for her pregnancy and birth expenses, as well as her legal fees.

In July, Diggs responded to the paternity suit by requesting a genetic test to establish fatherhood of the baby, saying he was "not certain" of the paternity.

If the results proved that he is the father, Diggs requested to have joint legal and joint physical custody of his daughter, as well as splitting the pregnancy and birth expenses and lawyer's fees.

It is pertinent to mention that Stefon Diggs has moved on with global super star rapper Cardi B, who is currently pregnant with their first child.

Aimee Lou Wood says THIS helps 'work out my feelings' during body dysmorphic flare-ups

Aimee Lou Wood has revealed how her character in The White Lotus built her confidence and helped her deal with her body dysmorphia.

While giving an interview to Harper’s Bazaar, the 31-year-old English actress and writer talked about how her character Chelsea in the hit HBO series The White Lotus boosted her self-confidence.

In her interview, which was published on Wednesday, November 5, Wood admitted that when she found out she would have to record a scene in a bikini, her body dysmorphia came back stronger with the same intensity she used to experience in her teenage years.

However, she took a lesson from her character to overcome her condition, which the Mayo Clinic describes as “a mental health condition in which you can't stop thinking about one or more perceived defects or flaws in your appearance — a flaw that appears minor or can't be seen by others. But you may feel so embarrassed, ashamed and anxious that you may avoid many social situations.”

The Alice and Jack alum said, "I shook myself out of it by thinking, 'It’s not about whether Aimee wants to show her body or not – Chelsea does.’”

Wood said this is something she likes about her job and she usually needs more time to get rid of her character.

"Acting has always been a safe place for me to work out my feelings. I think for that reason a role will hit me in the heart, in the gut,” the Film Club star confessed
