PK (2014) tells the story of an innocent alien who arrives on Earth to study human life, but shortly after landing in Rajasthan, his remote control device-the only way to contact his spaceship and return home-is stolen. Unable to understand human language, customs, clothes, and behavior, he struggles to survive in a strange world. As he learns Bhojpuri by holding hands with people and copying their memories, he begins searching for his missing remote.
During his journey, he notices that humans solve problems by turning to different religions and gods, so he tries following many religious practices, but becomes confused by the contradictions between them. Because of his unusual behavior and constant questioning, people nickname him "PK," meaning someone who appears drunk or odd. He eventually meets Jaggu, a television journalist, who becomes his friend and helps him investigate the
whereabouts of his stolen remote, which is now in the possession of a powerful spiritual leader, Tapasvi Maharaj. Through television debates and public discussions, PK challenges blind faith, superstition, and the exploitation of religion by self-proclaimed godmen. At the same time, Jaggu reconnects with her lost love, Sarfaraz, after PK helps reveal a misunderstanding that had separated them. In the end, PK exposes the truth about the stolen remote, regains it, and returns to his planet, leaving behind a message about humanity, love, honesty, and the importance of questioning false beliefs while respecting true faith.
