Review of Prasna by Rj Animesh
Rating: 7.5/10
Prasna, directed by Milan Bhowmik and produced by KSM Film Combine, is a thought-provoking social drama that attempts to blend emotional intensity with a mysterious undertone. The film delves into human dilemmas, societal flaws, and unresolved truths, reflected aptly in its title which translates to The Question.
Performances:
Payel Sarkar delivers a mature and layered performance, portraying emotional conflict with subtlety. Her expressions and screen presence anchor the film's emotional weight.
Rajesh Sharma is reliable as always, portraying complexity and inner turmoil with ease.
Swagata Mukherjee and Kharaj Mukherjee provide strong supporting performances, especially in emotionally charged scenes.
Child artists Baby Ridhima and Baby Rishika bring innocence and vulnerability to the narrative.
The ensemble cast, including Sumon Banerjee, Tulika Basu, and Moubani Sorcar, enhance the film’s realism with grounded performances.
Direction & Technicals:
Milan Bhowmik's direction keeps the narrative grounded, though the pacing dips in parts. The cinematography by Partha Sarathi Chakraborty effectively captures the mood of the film, while the music by Soumitra Kundu and Debojyoti Kar complements the story's emotional arc.
Verdict:
Prasna raises important questions about life, relationships, and societal responsibilities. While not without its flaws, it earns praise for sincere storytelling and strong acting performances.
