Synopsis: Haricharan the general cashier of the village, with his wife(Binapani) and son(Nipu) runs small family burdened under many debts. Krishnalal Ganguly, Binapani's uncle from Kolkata, brings a gold jewel for Binapani. Haricharan steals his wife's jewellery under the pressure of debt and Binapani eventually died due to extreme sorrow.
