BJP has moved ECI over certain discrepancies present in the affidavits of TMC Candidates Haji Nurul Islam (Basirhat) & Mala Roy (South Kolkata), which falls under grounds for cancellation.

• Nurul Islam, a former Govt. Employee has failed to submit his No Dues Certificate which has been mandated by the ECI & also which has led to the cancellation of nomination of BJP Candidate Debashis Dhar only a few days back.

• Secondly, Mala Roy, presently holds the position of Chairmanship under Kolkata Municipal Corporation. ECI rules clearly mentions that no one enjoying an office of profit under any govt body is eligible to be a MP.

BJP thereby demands ECI takes cognizance of this two matters immediately & act accordingly.
