Soul Creek is a statement of our effort to produce plays which stem from the depths of our soul and which we hope will find a place in that of our audience. It is an assemblage of dynamic and motivated young associates whose passion for theatre comes together in the form of a partnership called Soul Creek. Co-founded by Swarnendu Chatterjee and AkshayJanakiram, Soul Creek Productions has grown under the able leadership of eminent journalist and film director, Sudeshna Roy. In an endeavour to bring together art and commerce, Soul Creek has shaken hands with leading corporate houses, whose support and investment stands testimony to the group’s commitment to theatre. As a combined force of unparalleled creative talent, Soul Creek Productions is ready with its first play, ‘Woofman’, directed by Shaket Banerjee, which is to be performed at GyanManch on 21st June. Tracing back to the roots of British Drama, the company has also started work on Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’, which is to be staged in August-September.
