Cervical cancer is the fifth most common cancer in humans, the second most common cancer in women worldwide and the most common cancer cause of death in the developing countries. Sexually transmitted human papilloma virus (HPV) infection is the most important risk factor for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and invasive cervical cancer.[1] The worldwide incidence of cervical cancer is approximately 510,000 new cases annually, with approximately 288,000 deaths worldwide.[2] Unlike many other cancers, cervical cancer occurs early and strikes at the productive period of a woman's life. The incidence rises in 30–34 years of age and peaks at 55–65 years, with a median age of 38 years (age 21–67 years). Estimates suggest that more than 80% of the sexually active women acquire ge***al HPV by 50 years of age.[3] Hence, the advent of a vaccine against HPV has stirred much excitement as well as debate.

Today Mr. Anirban Choudhury, Channel Head & Editor, Zee 24 Ghanta was the special guest at 91.2 Y FM, NSHM's Community Radio where he was interviewed in the programme, "Tomar Sathe", on the future of Journalism in this digital era.

Thereafter, he took a brilliant interactive session with the new UG and PG students of media science. Mr. Dileep Singh Mehta, Chairman Trustee, NSHM Knowledge Campus, graced the event with his presence. Mr. Choudhury answered many pertinent queries raised by students on various media related issues. It was a stimulating session and all present were left looking forward to more such interactions with him. Mr. Somnath Ganguly from Zee 24 Ghanta was also present.

নেশামুক্তি নিয়ে দীর্ঘ ১৮ বছর ধরে কাজ করছেন শুভাশিস নাথ। তাঁর নেশামুক্ত স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্হা সাফল্যের সঙ্গে সেইসব মানুষদেরকে মূলস্রোতে ফিরিয়ে আনছে, যারা নেশাগ্রস্ত হয়ে হারিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। আমাদের স্টুডিওতে এসে শুভাশিস নাথ শোনালেন তাঁদের কর্মকাণ্ড।

কবিগুরুর প্রয়াণে শোকার্ত বিদ্রোহী কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম তার প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করে লিখেছিলেন- ‘দুপুরের রবি পড়িয়াছে ঢলে অস্তপারে কোলে/বাংলার কবি শ্যাম বাংলার হৃদয়ের ছবি তুমি চলে যাবে বলে/শ্রাবণের মেঘ ছুটে এলো দলে দলে।’

On 27th July 1992, popular Bollywood actor,famous for his villainous roles,Amjad Khan died,age 51 in Mumbai. It’s been 25 years since Amjad Khan’s death. One of the finest character actor of his times, Amjad Khan wasn’t the first choice to play Gabbar Singh in director Ramesh Sippy’s magnum opus, Sholay (1975).
