This set of photographs was shot during the month from 2014 to 2019. Being a Street Photographer I love to shoot festivals and document a slice of reality from my perspective.

Most of the photographs were taken inside Masjid which is the principal mosque of and at the bylanes of mosques which is popularly known as Zakaria Street. This place is the melting pot of the city during this time of the year, not only for the photography enthusiast but also for the food lovers as a variety of delicious street food gets served here.

I always shoot in the RAW format so I have to post-process my images. I do basic post-processing by just tweaking the sliders of exposure, contrast, clarity and highlight.

My obsession with nature and greens inspired me to create this painting. During the lockdown, I missed the fresh burst of creativity that travelling brings.

Through this artwork, I wanted to capture the feeling of freedom, freshness, and desire. Working on this painting was a way to escape reality and enter a magical and world of my own.

Working with a digital medium is forgiving and easier to play around with colours and composition. The process behind my is very intuitive. Some start from fragments of thoughts, while some are from old travel pictures.

I want to share stories of my dreams, love, travels, and mysterious landscapes. I like to capture a bit of magical something in my work and make the ordinary feel like a vacation.

Canary Head Flycatcher gave birth to four babies in my backyard. It was a wonderful morning. After they grew up, the kids perched on the branch and waited for their mom every day for food.

Watching the birds feed was an exciting experience. At that point, I took this shot. This place is close to Kodaikanal. It was the best experience of my life.

Flower Vendor
I come from a humble farming background in a small village called Beed in Maharashtra. I've always enjoyed dawdling with pencils and colours since I was a child. With time I realised that my source of joy had slowly and steadily become my passion. That's when I decided to study art formally.

I love capturing rural landscapes and their people in their stark reality. I feel that the simple beauty of the villages will not be here forever. I've witnessed the disappearance of native birds from our environment with the advent of modernisation.

My art is probably, my way of holding on to what I know may not be here for long. I know I will yearn and miss it all the time. I think my ability to paint this is the best gift art has given me. I have had the privilege of showcasing my works in many galleries. I have also been honoured with awards and accolades. Although I like using different mediums, oil remains my favourite.

I was walking in the streets of the fort and saw this classic car passing by this beautiful old facade. As I was exploring with my camera in hand, it made me shoot this so quickly that I couldn’t express the feeling. So lucky to have captured this photograph. I go to these streets every Sunday to shoot classic, .

I’m always fascinated by the results of the pictures after shooting. I always look at the pictures I've shot after coming home. I enjoy them even more while editing on my computer. I wanted to keep the colours natural, so haven’t edited much just geometry and crop.

Thore Din Chup Reh Lip Balm

I try to use everyday objects and show them in a different, unconventional light. We see and use these objects daily but don't think much about them beyond their function. The idea was to deconstruct them and change how we look at such seemingly, ordinary objects.

I believe in having a structured process, so the initial steps usually involve sketching the way I want the final composition to look. Then, I think about text, colours, and materials and design these images digitally.

As far as my experience is concerned, I like to have fun with this series and hopefully establish a unique way of storytelling.

Marina beach in Chennai is the soul of the city. No matter when you go, there will always be a lot of stories to witness and realise the meanings within. It was the rainy season in . No matter what you see, who you see, the Marina is at its best. The dynamics of this place are astounding. I was able to find a heartwarming moment there and make it a good memory of that time.

is always a place to go. Instead of calling it an experience, I'd say my memories there have been beautiful, and I'll continue to make more of them. I used very little post-processing to get the feel of the picture. It's just blue that suits the scene and the place.

Inspired by literary works like Ozymandias and the Dune Series, this artwork explores the idea of a fallen idol, a messiah deconstructed.

I've always been interested in science fiction. Dune posed an interesting challenge. Unlike most science fiction, Dune is more cerebral than visual. Making a piece inspired by it challenged me to break the chain of linear thinking in creating visuals.

I used 3D models for poses and references and then illustrated them with various brushes to create these complex textures.

It was Dev Deepawali in , the eternal city which resides beside the . Walking towards the ghats in the early morning through the narrow lanes, I got stuck by this beautiful sight. The blue coloured wall with one open door and beautiful warm yellow light was coming through it made me stop for a while. I immediately got connected.

Street photography is all about anticipating moments and snatching impromptu magical nanoseconds. I waited for a few good seconds as I wanted something to happen. A lady in a red saree crossed the door, and that's when I made this frame.

Whenever I am out for shooting, I keep myself open to any situation. Any preconceived ideas can ruin the ability to identify and anticipate a decisive moment. I like to carry a compact camera, easy to carry anywhere, anytime. I did the very basic and minimal post-processing.

I like drawing old architecture and studying the nuance of the place. I feel connected to an artwork when I imagine myself at that place at any point in time with an imaginary company of a bird that symbolises my free spirit. This particular is one of the many studies I do as a part of my practice.

The process is trying to paint as freely as I imagine I would paint on a canvas, and it is always different. The experience is always fulfilling, as any creator feels after drawing for leisure.

30/03/2022

I made these photographs in 2018. Sanya and I have known each other since school, and we have been collaborating on portraits since the time I picked up the camera. I was in Bombay for an assignment, we happened to have a day off on the same day, and we decided to take some portraits.

Anjali, another childhood friend of ours, came on board to help us style this, and we shot everything at Sanya’s house. The idea of these portraits came along very organically where we just wanted to play with one fabric. After a few test shots, we realized that there had to be some layering to it and hence came the nose piece. The layering of these elements created an image that resonated with all of us.

The location was her house, a typically well-lit house. The house is her personal space in her everyday life along with our friendship allowed us the accessibility to photograph her in her environment. The yellow backdrop happens to be the door of the house, which creates a great contrast with the green fabric. The second photo is in the small alley of the house where golden light hits a patch of wall around sunset.

I restricted the post-processing to just a little bit of RGB adjustment and worked to retain the highlights and shadows right. I played a little on the split toning to set the tone for the images. I wanted to keep it simple because the light play was already quite dramatic. My approach to post-production would be different today, in the year 2022.

It’s always fun collaborating with friends and people you have known your entire life. The spontaneity and ease of working with friends always bring uniqueness to each image. I also enjoy photographing people in natural light. It fascinates me how different skin types receive sunlight differently at various hours of the day.

An interaction with Ari Henning(), one of the most internationally well-known moto journalists, resulted in this .

Since I am a big fan of Ari, I could not deny his request to make one for him, or rather I suggested, I don't remember. It was all done in Photoshop from scratch and I have used both painting and some photo bashing to arrive at the final result.

Doing studies or like this can often be very rewarding and helps me to come back refreshed and stronger to all the and design work that I generally do. (which is my full-time day job, and I love it)
