The Kerala High Court has decided to watch the Malayalam film 'Janaki v. State of Kerala' starring State Union Minister Suresh Gopi, before ruling on the production's plea for certification.

CBFC's Revising Committee had withheld the film's approval, objecting to the use of the name 'Janaki' to portray a r**e survivor. Meanwhile, the filmmakers have filed another petition challenging the Committee's decision.

The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice M M Sundresh and Justice K Vinod Chandran on Wednesday suspended the jail sentence and granted bail to Kiran Kumar, who was convicted of abetment to su***de and dowry death of his wife Vismaya V Nair.

Kollam Additional Sessions Court found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment in 2022. Vismaya, 24, was found hanging in the bathroom of Kiran Kumar's house at Sasthamkotta in Kollam district on June 21, 2021, after they got married on May 31, 2020.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have busted a darknet-based pan-India L*D (a type of drug) trafficking syndicate with the arrest of two persons and seizure of drugs and cryptocurrency worth about ₹1 crore. Manorama News reported that the officials arrested Edison, a native of Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam, in connection with the case. Details of the other person in custody have not been revealed yet.
